Serenity NOW!!!!
POW!
(grumble-mania)
~~~~~
it snowed ALL night and we have 16 inches so far with more to come (it’s falling 2 inches an hour) and our truck died in the driveway while plowing. Now we have too much snow for anyone to plow up our giant hill of a drive and so a tow truck cannot get up here and we are stuck, stuck, stuck.
- The power keeps going off and on, i’m hoping it stays on
- I am hormonal
- Just found out the windmill is not guaranteed as there are three families who qualify for the grant and there is only enough funding for 1-2. Last week we were told that we were “getting it”, guess there was a mix-up with funding. We are still in the running, though, and we do have the perfect location. Fingers crossed!!!!!!
- Roo has a cold and is cranky and wants to watch Pink Panther but the TV keeps going off in the middle of her show
- We are low on cheese
and this, the proverbial cherryontop:
gasp
oh no, oh no, oh no
(it’s a “Billy Ray Cyrus meets Natalie Portman” do)
SOB, someone pick me up off the floor, please?!?
P.S. Jesse helped
Ok, you win.
I just posted about my crankiness, but we didn’t get 16+ inches. And I don’t have a daughter with a reverse mullet.
You definitely win.
Snow?…..man…i was wearing shorts yesterday….. now we did get a coldfront…. but yeah….. April is the month we start swimming again…..
It’s cold here too, but no snow – thank goodness. I hope your day brightens. Sounds like you’ve got a lot going on there!
h-no:
oh my!!! Snow and a haircut…not fun.
The snow looks beautiful, even though it is a big pain in the heinie right now. Hope your power stays on, Roo can get through her movie and you all stay warm. No one does emergency cheese runs where you live??? They should air-drop it in for you! You need it! Roo’s hair…my cousin had a haircut like that once, courtesy of her sister. They were playing beauty parlor. (((((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))))
Oh, my love!! You poor thing!! That is a big ‘ol bag full of crap. I’m sorry.
Ok – I have PMS, it snowed this morning, and I was late getting the kids to the bus. But you still win
oh, my. my heart stopped when i saw that. jesse did a fine job of butchering his sister’s hair!
and snow. yikes. it’s cold here but i’m hoping that won’t happen. sending you a heart full of warmth and good uplifting spirits!
Oh, oh. Oh, my. The challenges to gentle parenting come from the most – unexpected – places…
I cried the first time the hair got cut. But I assure you, it does grow back. Every time. Wait until they shave half an eyebrow off! :what:
I’ve always wanted to be snowed in. Tell me how wonderful it is.
Julie: What a terrible, horrible, rotten, no good, awful day you are hoping. Keep in mind that the snow will melt, Roo’s hair will grow back, your hormones will subside AND in a few months, you’ll look back and think that in hindsight, it was pretty funny. Hang in there! ((Hugs))
Ummm,didn’t your hear ponytails are all the rage,that is a single ponytail that covers certain areas. So are pixie cuts,she does have the face to pull it off. Yes,a pixie for your pixie!
OH BOY! Just get her to the haircut place and have it short. Maybe she’s just “ready” for Spring and her hair is screaming for the snow to go away for you. :not-talking: She does have a CUTE face so I can see her in a short hair then it can grow out. (HUGS) Wish I could send you cheese.:oh-no:
oh dear. Now, see, this is the kind of thing that’s funny and cute and innocent when SOMEONE ELSE’S kid does it! But if it was mine… GRRRR.
Well darn it!!
Oh no- snowed in And low on cheese!!! that’s the worst. I hope it melts soon for you. Will the city or county guys come plow you out after they are done with the rest of the area? I’ve called our township garage once before when I was desperate and he eventually got us out.
Her hair looks really cute where they cut it. Maybe she’ll let you do an angled cut on the sides, so it still frames her face and then eases up back to the shorter part. That’s how I cut my daughter’s hair. It reduces all of the dreadlocks that seem to form at night on the back of her head.
(always finding the bright side of things…. )
What a beautiful view. Oh my about the hair. I think warm mittens, hot chocolate, cookies and yummy tea are all in order.
So, party upfront, all business in back? :ROTFL: :hammer: :hammer: Sorry. Couldn’t help myself.
We don’t have that much snow, matter of fact I don’t think we’ve gotten that much snow the entire winter here in my part of Iowa, but we have been known to get stuck in our driveway when it DOES snow about a foot or more on the ground. We have nice neighbors who plow us out.
We really need to get one of those. A plow, not the great neighbors.
Snow be gone! Hope the windmill works out for you guys! Eek on the hair cut–C would definitely be helping E perfect her ‘do as well.
ack on the snow…. its april already no snow in april.
well at least hair does grow back
but yeah its still irritating especially when hormonal, so hang in there and eat some chocolate, that always helps me.
Oh I am so sorry, harmony did that, only to her bangs, they were 1/4 inchlong, and she was due to be in a wedding in two days.
yes, it will grow back.
:what: Oh noooooooooo!!!!!! Did she do it herself??
wow, what a day! At least it is April, so the snow will melt quickly and you won’t be stuck for long. How dead is your truck?
Oiy! Maybe a snappy little bob, kind of stacked in the back? Very french parisienne meets 3 year old….
Oh, poor Julie! What a yucky group of events! Here is hoping the day turns around for you, a congratulations phone call about the windmill comes through, the snow melts by dinnertime, and Roo’s hair magically grows back overnight. (((hugs)))
Oh, I was thinking it was ok, until the ‘reverse mullet’ and then…I once cut my sisters hair when she was 3 and I was 5 and were playing hairdresser. My mom did cry. And hers did grow back too. My mom trimmed my sisters. {{{hugs}}}
oh my — I’m hiding Micah’s eyes so he doesn’t get any ideas.
I do think the stacked bob idea might work, though!!
my children used to do that. the hair cutting thing. In fact, they still do. Boy Wonder came home a few weeks ago with a mohawk. A four inch long mohawk that looked rather mulletish in the back. When he came out of the shower and let it air dry he looked like a 6’9″ My Little Pony with a luxuriant forelock. Seems they don’t grow out of it. Blessings abound
Oh no! You are LOW ON CHEESE! That’s horrible! :wink-wink:
Oh, alright. I cut my own hair when I was her age. My mother had a conniption. We both survived.
Will she let you “fix” it into a cute pixie do? Because that would be adorable! And so cool for the summer. And so easy to maintain. :big-smile:
You are having a day, aren’t you? (((hugs))) I hope there’s chocolate in the house. I’d need it.
Doooohhhhhhhhhh! H. is on my lap and said “what’s that?” at Roo’s hair! I think he is jealous. :straight-face:
Here’s hoping your day gets brighter…and Oh no! Not her hair!
Ohh you poor poor thing!
Well our snow was just a sprinkling so your post reminded me I should be thankful.
The haircut: Wow, just wow. I am sure that you will think of something creative.
:what: WHAT A DAY!! I am so sorry!
I’m thinking a short bob with a really stacked back will fix the hair…I gasped out loud too!
ugh. i sobbed all day and night when katie cut max’s hair. and it wasn’t so long as roo’s. oh, julie. stuck, cheese-deprived, windmill-angsty, unpredictably-powered julie with the strangely shorn child. :whew:
do you have any chocolate?
:straight-face: dang!!! We actually didn’t get as much snow, (am I saying that? lol) as you did! Sorry ’bout Roo’s hair!! Yikes..
What a helpful son you have!
Roo is showing her punk side at 4-she & Aidan would cook up lots of trouble-er I mean fun together.:so-cool: I hope you get your windmill & that someone rescues your truck.
oh no
(((hugs)))
I wish I had some wise cheery words.
Baby girl is not quite the same as big boy for mama…she did learn from the best…I would die!!!!! Millies hair is just taking so long to be there. better go she keeps raiding the candy the boys leave low….:frog:
Oh no!!!
That pciture of the new snow is BEAUTIFUL! Might not be Good for you, but it’s sure pretty!
The hair cut… only saying it’ll grow because after 3 girls who have all hacked each others or their own hair at some point before the age of 5, that’s all you can say to yourself to stomach it. Her smile will get all the attention
(((HUGS)))
that looks like what happened when S cut her hair a while back LOL it does grow back mama:)
:frog:
Oh dear. This is not a good day, save for the beauty of the white – though you are probably halfway to spring in your heart by now, thus making even that the icing on the cake. About the hair: youch. I am not sure how I WILL handle that, as surely, it happens to most people. DO let us know how you plan to proceed!! :frog:
EEK! Why do they always go for the hair!? I’m sorry about rotten days like this. {{hugs}}
Yikes… snow in april?! Hope you get unstuck soon. And the hair thing? BTDT… check out my blog and look at Lilly’s haircut (twice in 6 months now). This last one (2 weeks ago), she asked her younger sister to cut her bangs for her!! What do you do?!
OMG! I had THE EXACT same haircut about 4 years ago…the only difference being that I paid 26 dollars for it….lmao…
The great thing about hair is that it grows back…
here’s hoping that tomorrow is better than today! (((HUGS)))
Sucky!
aaaahhh so sorry mama!! that would definitely make me cry.. well if maiya every grew long hair.. HUGS!! i hope tomorrow is better
Gah! and GAK! and double GAK! and low on CHEESE? :whew: How? HOW?
No way! I’m positive tho’, that you’ll make a cute cut of it!
Hoping the snow is a quick melt for your truck’s sake – I’ve been told that this is probably the last of winter. Yes?
((Hugs!)) Sounds like you need it – take a deep breath. I’m trying to think of a good replacement for cheese and all I can come up with is chocolate…can you make cookies? Does Roo have any flouncy, colorful, lacy, skirts/dresses/tops and some tights? You could dress her up all 80′s punk? The hair would definitely go with that style! :wink-wink: My daughter once shaved off her eyebrow – she freaked out and I did a little, too (when I wasn’t laughing…). But, I promise, it all grows back. Hope you feel better – hormones suck.
We got some snow here in Pennsylvania too. They say we’ll have another week of it. The hair…..I remember those shocking times ….at least it will grow back and she will get to have a new “do” too. She must have felt she needed a change :wink-wink:
*gasp*
Wow. Most days I’d love to trade places with you. But today? Wow, gee, look at the time…I got some stuff…to uh…you know…NO!
Looks as though she may have been going for the “wedge” do. Well, she almost pulled it off. Did her hands get tired or did Mama walk in? Hee. Okay, I know it wasn’t that funny at the time. But it will be someday.
I hope things are looking up for you very soon!!
Oh, no! BUT, she’d still be cute, even bald.
I’m sending you warm spring vibes!
I shudder at the thought of do-it-yourself haircuts…. I am so sorry!
Ooooh, Poor Dear. You got hit with a load. Please post how the haircut turns out.
:what: Roo’s hair! Sorry about the storm, it is sure beautiful, though!
i second what feministmama said. to a T!
Yikes! I hate the cold! We’ve had sun for the past three days. IT’s been in the 70′s. Today I woke up to the rain!! I hate the rain too! Unfortunately I live in Oregon! I’m sorry your daughter chopped off her hair! My son ran a mustach trimmer down the middle of his head (he was 4) not once but twice. We had to shave his head. He cried! It was hard, but he couldn’t walk around with a clowns hair cut! I feel for you!!!
