    Perhaps I Blog Too Much

    (a scattered blog in which I use bullet points despite my love-hate relationship with them)

    ~~~~~
    The things that make me sigh and grumble:
    • my father has had a reccurence of bladder cancer
    • my lawn is too big for me to cut with the mower when Trev is away (it’s 3+ acres)
    • I paid someone to cut it and he mowed down my Peony,  rhubarb,  entire Echinacea bed and Campenula plant which was just about to flower.
    • I put the second coat of stain and 1st coat of poly on the living room floor and now we are “landlocked” in the far end of the house and it rains and rains and rains. We cannot get to the bathroom/kitchen  without going out in the rain and I’m beginning to think this was a mistake.
    • I miss my husband
    • it is always hard the last few days when he is gone a month or more (5 days left)
    • I may have lost my Peony but I still have my bubble-bush
    • after Trevor gets home, we will be getting one of these
    (this will be big, really, really big;  I will cry endlessly and it will be heaven.)
    Bonus
    look,  it’s me with a ginger twist!
    I’m really more of a Mary Ann kind of girl, though.
    “This being human is a guest house.
    Every morning a new arrival.
    A joy, a depression, a meanness,
    come momentary awareness comes
    as an unexpected visitor.
    Welcome and entertain them all!
    Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
    who violently sweep your house
    empty of its furniture,
    still, treat each guest honorably.
    He may be clearing you out
    for some new delight.
    The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
    meet them at the door laughing.”
        A Day, in pictures
    (and a few words)
    In the morning we have our tea
    we wear our tea hats
    (some hats require a certain attitude)
    afterward, we feel refreshed and go searching for creatures which slither and hop
    today we are lucky and find both kinds.
    Roo feels that worms enjoy a good mid-day slide
    (the worm in her hand tells her this)
    the sun warms us a bit much and we decide to retreat inside for lunch
    don’t forget the “silver-wear”
    “well, don’t you look lovely my dear”
    “ and you, as well!”
    time for bubbles
    (this mama don’t mess around when it comes to bubbles)
    happiness is good
    good. good. good.
    A Good Day
    *****
    Today was good.  Grandpa (Trevor’s father) came for 6 hours and played with the kids for every minute of his visit. They laughed and played board games and ran in the grass and worked on puzzles and watercolor paints and ate peanut butter sandwiches together and looked for worms in the yard.
    Perfect.
    Me?  I finished sorting through 4000 books, did some weeding in the garden, washed 5 loads of laundry, baked bread and cleaned the kitchen.
    Perfect.
    After Grandpa left, Roo and I went down to the garden to look for more worms
     (her passion).
    The green beans are up.
    The onions are up.
    my herbs are coming along, as well.
    What is this in the garden?
    A nutweed?
    A monkey vine?
    Whatever it is, it’s growing faster than anything else!!!!
    Greetings From Dorkville
    It has been raining for days.
    The kids do not want to play with me in it because they don’t want to get soggy.
    “it’s wet out there Mommy, we want to play inside!”
    (the pic below is at a friend’s house)
    O.K. then, see you in a bit
    (you know where you can find me)
    Mommy needs to play too.
