    ~~~~~
    The garden has been turned and all that remains are some herbs and a few rows of Swiss chard.  I think of how sad I am to see summer go and remind myself that the earth needs rest and sometimes life moves at a pace we cannot keep.
     I just might need some rest as well.
    Do you know how much I love to shell beans? Do you know that when I sit there, on my old porch on this old farm, I think about the generations before me and the way they grew things and tended to them.  This is the way that it was and is and I am so glad for this continuation.
    I
    am thankful for that thin thread that connects me to something so true
    this is what I see when I shell the beans
    there is the sky, the sun, the trees, everything
    Jesse makes lawn tents
    the edge of something wonderful
    It’s a new day
    I am ready and grateful
    Bring it on.
