This and That
(now with 25% less oxygen)
I am still feeling cruddy, I think the Advair is helping some but the effects are so gradual it is difficult to tell. I am coughing non-stop today. I am going to see a chiropractor and naturopath to see if they can provide any additional help for this asthma. For now, I am craving quietness and warmth and so I am trying to make time for those things. I wanted to say thanks to all of you for the support and thoughts and phone calls and LOVE, it really, really helps. Thank you.
Our days are calm; the kids are playing gameboy and board games and legos and we read book after book after book. Sometimes we paint and sew and sometimes we lay in bed all morning and talk about cats. Sometimes we bake things and draw with our fingers in the piles of flour and sometimes we sit and watch the fire burn. You just never know what the next day will bring. I have not been taking photographs of life these past few months (the cold makes my lungs spasm so I am not out much), but I look forward to warmer weather so I can get out and get back to my heart’s calling.
In much needed pick-me-up news, my unschooling friend Kelli gave me an Excellent Blogger Award
and while I do not feel worthy these days as I am a horrid, neglectful, little blogger, I will gladly take the love and run
.
The best part is , I get to nominate 10 of my favorite blogs!

i wonder if your sudden asthma issues are related to any allergies you could have developed. I hope you get better soon.
I hope you feel better soon, too. I miss your pictures. That one up top is amazing. I love the blue.
Feel better and congrats on the recognition. You deserve it.
You made my day, thanks!!!
I’m going to make bread with Micah this afternoon, and we’ll trace flour pictures in your honor. You always inspire me to be a more patient and seize-the-joyfulness mother.
Here’s hoping for warmer weather and clearer lungs soon. Does creating a shower sauna help any?
(((hugs)))
I’m so sorry to read you have been under the weather. I’m relieved to read you have some relief and I’m sending you healing vibes. Congratulations on your Excellent Blogger Award! Very pleased to see your beautiful felt work has been featured on a few sites. I love your work and love to go to Debra’s house and see the beautiful custom made tapestry you did for her! I also love the tapestry that hands at our house.
You are an excellent blogger — no matter how much or little you blog.
love, love, love you, sweetie pie.
Yay, on getting an E! I hope the chiropracter and naturopath can help you feel better. Trying to remember when you got pnuemonia…thinking it was early fall? Late summer? I have heard that pneumonia can make your lungs touchy for quite a long while. Take care, (((HUGS))) and spring is coming. Meanwhile, you have a lovely home, wonderful children and your terrific husband to make your days bright, as I am sure you brighten their days. I know you brighten my days.
I hope you get better soon.
Great news about your pieces being featured.
I always LOVE the music on your site, sometimes I come back even though I’ve read and commented just to see what music plays.
Even though you haven’t been posting often, I still love to read and see when you do.
Take care of yourself. Asthma is nasty.
Thanks for sharing your blog links with us.
Love, love, love….
So weird but I was just thinking of you this morning. Glad you blogged. Sending you warm fuzzies and hope your breathing easier soon.
Stay warm and feel better! You are loved.
When I deleted my blog, Rachael was very concerned about keeping up with ‘Julie and her adorable kids’. She wants a little girl just like Roo!!! So your blog was the first I checked out, and I saw you hadn’t been around much. We were worried about you. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Take care of yourself. Everybody here loves you.
GOOD FOR YOUon your beig featured there and there!! I am blogging again. I invite you over to check it out. You know less oxygen CAN make you more creative, although you may have less energy to actually make stuff. Of course, coffee can fix that. Coffee can fix anything. Serously, I hope you can get that asthma under control soon. That sounds awful. I have heard that black coffee can help in an asthma attack. Take care of yourself.
Congrats on the award!! Thoughts and prayers for complete healing. Much love too!
I am sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I hope that things improve soon for you. Breath is an important thing in feeling good – losing 25% is not ok.
(hugs) and love to you all.
I’m sorry you haven’t been well; it’s very good to hear from you again as I appreciate your posts very much. You’ve been in my thoughts a lot.
Your days always sound wonderful. Thanks for thinking of me as an “excellent” blogger! How do I grab that button so I can pass on the love? CONGRATULATIONS on being featured on both of those sites! Very exciting. Be well! Be well!!!
That’s awesome, :so-cool: gf! I’m so happy for you and your art.
If I could breathe for you, I would. I would share.
Thanks for nominating me! I will post that and do my own nominating, um, next time I blog.
Keeping you in my thoughts. I can’t wait for you to be able to breathe easier and gift us with more glimpses of your life and thoughts.
(((be well mama)))
Oh asthma is such a nasty bugger! I hope you are on the mend right quick. You deserve the E for excllent for sure. :big-smile:
Take as much time as you need just for you! We wil be here… you are so worth the wait! Thank you, my dear, for your generous nod towards my humble blog. (now, picture Wayne and Garth, down on thier knees, chanting “We’re not worthy, we’re not worthy!”
Get up! Get up!
I love that movie…
Nothing scarier and worse than not being able to breathe. I speak as an asthmatic who’s had to go to the hospital on more than one (or 2 or 3) occasion(s).
Advair turned my life around – I hope that as time goes by your asthma will become a distant memory.
hello julie you beautiful person you!
i’m a huge fan and admirer of your beautiful blog. mostly a lurker though. i just wanted to share with you the excellent blog award. i see that you’ve already got it once…well now you have it twice.
best to you and hope you feel better soon. holding you in my thoughts.

I want Julie well!
Congratulations, and thanks! I loved reading the links to your reviews/interview and added my own review. :flirty: I am so sorry to hear about your illness and will email you about my MIL, who is an amazing naturopath – though it sounds like you’ve already found someone.
sending you tons and tons and tons of get better soon energy = )
I have used Advair for a long time (10 years?), and felt it was doing OK for me. My doctor disagreed and felt I wasn’t well controlled any more at all, and suggested Singulair (a once a day pill). Singulair seems to either work or not for people… for me, it has been a magic bullet! I was using my albuterol rescue inhaler at least once a day, and since going on the Singulair have used it maybe once a week, if that. Am in love with the Singulair.
Hope you’re feeling better soon… I love your blog and always look forward to viewing it :big-smile:
