Bit By Bit
~~~~~
We are all recovering from this wave of illness. The kids are nearly themselves and my sinus infection and ear infection are gone and my lung infection/bronchitis/asthma are improving slowly. Still cannot talk much but the silence has been good for me.
I am preserving vegetables and fruits and placing them away for the winter when we will eat them and they will remind us of summer.
Tonight I am canning tomatoes because they must be canned.
They are impatient and do acrobatics while they wait for attention.
I do like to dunk me the littlest ones
We are officially not “back to school” for another year. Life keeps on, the days blend together and it is all so connected. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Well, except to have summer linger a bit, that would be nice.
But it’s good, all of it.
Enjoy your last summer days.
It felt like summer today here………
I think you need a canning friend to help out, when you should be resting.
I’m so glad you’re all feeling better!
What talented tomatoes you have :hmmmmm: :frog:
LOVE the tomatoes. I am even inspired to try growing heirlooms next summer.
Tomato acrobatics…I’d love to see that!! No really, I would.
I see you have another giantess in the tomato mix! I think Giantess is my new favorite old word! I guess I’ve been reading Jack and the Beanstalk too much lately… Glad you’re on the mend!
omgoodness! I haven’t been by your blog for some time — I didn’t realize you all were sick
Good thing I didn’t know — it breaks my heart to think of your spirits pausing for anything
Fell better, all of you
I love the acrobats! I just wish they hadn’t gone for a dive! ;D
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Lung infections are not nice, especially coupled with so much other stuff.
I want a poster of pic number 2 on my kitchen wall. Seriously!
Here’s to strong recovery..my old sickness remedy is tomatoes stewed in butter, on hot buttered toast.
Glad you guys are on the mend. Those toms look awesome! Mine all got blossom end rot. Seven plants and nary a ‘mater.
So sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather. I admire so much your stamina to keep on canning and preserving admist it all. I am still taking baby steps to being friendlier on the earth by growing and preserving most of our own food. I have yet to have enough to make it through a winter. And I am planning on living vaicariously through your unschooling journey this year as mine have had to go back to school. Your life is such a thing of beauty!
I am glad for your returning health, ripened acrobatic tomatoes, and all your small joys that you share with us so generously. Love ya. Lisa
