  •  A Revealing Dream

    (a self portrait, of sorts)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Last night, I dreamt I was dying.  In the dream, I had uterine cancer and had 5 weeks to live.
    I cried and cried and cried.
    Then, I sat down with my closest friends and family members and told them one by one.
    “Oh no!”, they said, “What do you need? What can I do?”
     I responded, “Let me take pictures of you so you will have a part of me to keep”
  • Wow, Julie! That is intense, beautiful, just…wow. It is indeed revealing to the kind of wonderful person you are that you want to take pictures of your friends….interesting. :love:
  • That’s awesome. I mean, maybe except the cancer part. :love: :camera:
  • OMG, I hope the dream has not upset you.  When I have dreams that scare me they stay with me the whole day.  Your friends are incredibly lucky to have you in their lives.
  • Indeed your friends are so fortunate in you. :love:
  • You bless everyone who knows you.  :love:
  • That is a beautiful, moving dream.  What a lovely sentiment.
  • So sad, yet so beautiful.
  • I have heard that a death in a dream is about change. It could be about you making some big change in who you are and the old you is dying? :question:
  • I have heard the same thing as barn_raiser. It’s how I always interpret death dreams.
    Still, this is stunningly poignant.
  • WOW. Love, Lisa
  • I had similar dreams when I started into my novel.
  • Hadn’t you done this for a client of yours? One that was terminal?
  • Hugs, Julie. I have been having similar fears lately too- not dreams, but a friend’s sudden situation that makes me paranoid about my health in a completely unrealistic, unfounded way. I wonder if our having small children can be a reason for it? When I think of it, I don’t feel afraid of dying….just typically afraid for my kids. And sad that I wouldn’t get to do all that I want to do in this world.
    Sigh! We must walk through it! (-:
  • What a horribly scary dream … but what a beautiful and graceful way to respond to that question. Even in your dreams, you are selfless and loving.
    I hope your dreams are filled with happiness and chocolate the rest of the week!
  • My first response was to give you a (((hug))
  • Sounds like a wonderful dream. Death in a dream can definitely be a positive thing..and what you chose to do with your last days says it all.
    BTW, “In the Dark with You” is what my dh and I fell in love too oh so many years ago. I’m off to put it on right now :love:
  • (((Hugs)))
  • Julie…you are so loving and giving, even in sleep.
    :love:
  • #1. Stop dreaming about dying.
    #2. We watched “Snakes on a Plane” last night and I kept thinking about your herpetologist husband and wondering what his in-movie commentary would have been like, or if he would have just been laughing too hard. There was a herpetologist in the movie who was very, oh, I don’t know, not what I imagine Trevor is like, but like what I imagine people expect herpetologists to be like. You know, kinda small-mouthed.
    #3. I love the phrase, “Free Range Child.” Please put that on a t-shirt. I would buy it.
    #4. I notice you put photos in your Etsy store — YAY. So cool.
    #5. Do you have access to a harpoon you could take a cool arty picture of and sell to me?
    #6. That is all. You are kyoot.
  • I’ve missed you, Miss Julie.  It looks like the kids are doing well (and Lucy’s singing is fabulous).
    What a dream   You MUST watch My Life Without Me.  The movie is amazing.
