(and yet so few words)

my world is filled with blackberry juice
heaps of peas
elderberries
pattypan squash
cabbage, with lifelines
a divine lunch
pure love, in human form
human, in human form
every morning
i go out into the fields and greet the grasses and the dew,
the garden and the waking bees.
I nod to the apple trees as they grow and lean
praise the berries as they drip slowly off the branches
press my feet into the damp, cool earth.
and meet the day by saying yes,
yes,
yes.
