It Rained
(and other stuff)
~~~~~
It has been raining this week; we have had days and days of massive thunderstorms (not my favorite thing but we needed the precipitation).
and I do so love the world after a rain
leaky leeks
pop goes the blackberry
this is the largest tomato I have ever grown
dilly beans, batch #1
A love like no other
I want to say thanks to all of you who have sent love and support and helped me to feel more grounded when I am tired and worn out. You helped me to get moving again and I am grateful and thankful and blessed by this.
I am blessed by you.
thanks.
i’ve been busy lactating-glad you are feeling better.
my brandywine tomatoes are not setting fruit. :steamed:
i will just enjoy yours instead.
Your gardens look like they are prospering!
Inspiring garden photos! I have done nothing to preserve this year, other than many pints of blackberry jam. Are those pickled beans or canned cooked beans?
You inspire me every day.
You are a blessing (=
Glad you are feeling better.
I love the way everything looks bejeweled with raindrops.
lovely- it is always so refreshing after the rain!
I’m not preserving. Just eating and sharing the bounty…
Lovely pictures.
I swear to you that I grew a tomato just like that! There is no other tomato that compares to the size this one was…and I kept thinking, man, I should really take a pic of that tomato! And then I got all excited to eat it because H. kept asking about the “Big Bomato” and wanting to eat it, so I sliced it open. And I commented to R. about how I should have taken a pic of it. He said to take one of it opened, but I still didn’t because I was too damn busy eating it!
And R. wouldn’t eat it at first because he was “scared” of it. His loss. H. and I ate it w/ glee. See that’s what I love about you, Julie…you record those simple pleasure moments.
That is one beautiful tomato! Glad you all got some rain. We need some pretty badly. It’s just been a bit dry this year. Not terribly dry, but dry. ((((((HUGS)))) for you cuz hugs are always a good thing.
P.S. That blackberry…makes me HUNGRY! We used to pick blackberries at one of my Aunt’s other farms when I was a kid. They were sooooo delicious! Hold onto that little hand…they grow up so fast. What a lovely pic.
Glad you’re starting to feel a bit better. I know it may not be much when you’re exhausted and stressed, but keep in mind that you are admired by dozens of people around the country!
Makes me feel like getting a big glass of ice water! Beautiful pictures.
You’re far too busy. :tongue: Spider webs are pretty.
Mwah. That corn hair is gorgeous.
You are a blessing
love you.
(((Hugs))) :love:
:love: you are much loved my friend.
you should enter that tomato in the fair!!!
this is how i feel today :what:
ryc: I have not read that book, nor heard of it. It looks very interesting.
I got in a bit of a hurry w/ that last comment. I didn’t mean to say you had to send it along. Please only do so if you have extra copies, because I could probably get r. to get it through interlibrary loan. Wouldn’t it be funny if he did that and the library it came from was the juliepersons public library? Giggle.
I would so love to fill my home with your photography! These pictures make me feel so peaceful and content.
…and you bless us!
Your images are a welcome break to our hot dry summer out here. They make me excite to move back east to all the lushness. They are artful.
just ..lovely..your family is so lucky to have you..
:camera: Your photos have made me start to love nature phoptgraphy. I am so impressed with your energy. I gave up the canning this year; just a bit of freezing. We’re pigging out on everything in season and then waiting for it to come back in season. We may regret this come Dec. Dilly Beans sound good.
hey, i am sorry that i am not online right now. we have a LOT going on here between plans for the new car (which my parents are giving us….) and other big things. meanwhile work is picking up a bit too, so i haven’t been online for chat…we will catch up soon. hope things are well…
We are all blessed by you as well
I love it after it rains. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics. The 6th one down looks like a lady wearing a bonnet.
The pink — is that corn? It looks like hair. Fairy hair, maybe. Beautiful!
