  • I love the different colored eggs. She is so so beautiful…

  • That is PERFECT! …I’m singing in tune to K.I.S.S.I.N.G.

  • beautiful!

  • I really do enjoy your boobettes, the dolls and the purses. Since our nursing days here were so long ago, I have not thought about it much, until you started posting pics of your lovely ladies nursing. I will probably end up getting one eventually. Maybe it will spark a conversation with future DIL’s. I so hope my grandbabies will be AP-ed. You do beautiful work, and you are spreading lovley images of nursing babies and toddlers. Thanks!

  • They are tapestries! Even better! :)

  • She is wonderful.  Did you get my message re: your felted hangings?

The book you are reading looks terrific.  The thought of making honey…heavenly!

  • It seems there are only two things that can make me have babylust these days… actual newborns AND Julie’s felted creations!!!

  • Cute!

Hey your book up there reminded me about your present you got… Do you have any bees yet? :)

  • But birds aren’t mammals. :birdie:

  • i just love the colors in this one!

  • They just get better and better.

  • I love them. I go to bed thinking about when I’m going to buy some of your tapestries, where I’ll hang them. They’re just so wonderfully fabulous.

  • Oh she’s so lovely and loving!  You are a fine artist, Julie.  (Psssst. Cool book choice too )

  • aww, just lovely.  i hope to get one for our new home when we get settled:birdie:

  • I just noticed this one in a previous picture of your family room…wow! It really puts it into perspective how big it is! It is truly amazing! Yay! :celebrate:

  • Oh, and I love that little pregnant tummy looking sun!

  • To me it’s metaphoric for the nesting/building of love and foundation that is in the act of nursing.  It’s great Julie:grin:

  • Aww, you’re taking her down under right?

  • have you started making many felted projects for the show in australia yet? they will be loved where ever they go!

  • I had the same thought as Skyliz LOL… It’s beautiful, yet confusing. If she’s laying eggs, how is she nursing? Is she just taking care of the eggs for a mama bird? :birdie:

  • dcstarlette: she is a “mama bird” who is nursing her baby and the eggs represent her other children.  I know the bird as a nursing mama is a bit odd but it’s folk art and a bit fantastical and so it is more of a concept piece than a bio lesson.

It’s a metaphor for the nursing relationship and the safety of the “mama nest”.

  • :so-cool:
I just love visiting your site! I think your family is so neat!!

  • Yeah, but I think you like the idea of non-mammals nursing. I mean what is a mermaid doing with breasts? Aren’t mermaids fish, or are they some sort of dolphinesque thing? :dancingcow: :dancingcow: (Linnaea thinks you should have more dancing cows in your life)

  • Oh, and Linnaea doesn’t think she looks like a bird. She says she looks like a human in a nest. But that’s just her opinion–and she is only 7, so really, what does she know about humans in nests. :ROTFL:

  • Very cute!!  I love it!

  • Really they are cool! :so-cool: :so-cool: :so-cool: I don’t mean to be mean, I liked Linnaea’s comment. She didn’t question the ability of a bird to nurse, though. That was all me.
    Schuyler

  • So cute! I love it!

  • THAT is my favorite so far!!!!!

  • thanx for coming by and commenting on the hot topic of the day!  your work is beautiful!

  • :birdie: ok the bird is constantly fitting to me, sorry :blushing: Beautiful work!
