  I Always Wanted A Woman’s Neck

  
  

  you know the one where the clavicle is raised slightly and you can see the heartbeat,

  
  

   see the beauty in the firm bone, see the thin skin pressed lightly upon the neck.

  
  

  I always wanted to have this neck but now that I am woman,  now that my time has come

  
  

  I see that it is only flesh, full of imperfection and wanting and

  
  

  small blemishes.

  
  

  but my necklace says “LIVE“ and I do
