Homekeeping ABC Meme
(
stolenborrowed from the delightful emilymr )
Aprons – Y/N? yes, I am a messy, messy cook and lurve my (ugly) aprons.
Baking – Favorite thing to bake: cookies, with everything in them, nuts, berries , chocolate, dried fruits, you name it.
Clothesline – Y/N? yes, it is all we use 95% of the time (even in winter!)
Donuts – Have you ever made them? no but I have eaten them and “made” them into fat on my bum, all by myself thankyouverymuch.
Freezer – Do you have a separate deep freeze? Yes and it is about half full now from last summer’s harvest.
Garbage Disposal - Y/N? huh? We have a dog and a compost bucket.
Handbook - Joy of sex (?)
Ironing – Love it or Hate it? Loathe it! I am not one who irons. I burned my eye with a curling iron in 1991 and have not had any type of plug in iron since.
Junk Drawer – Y/N? I wish it were only a drawer. HA!
Kitchen – Color and decorating scheme? Colors deep french blue with white cabinets and plank floors. Decorating scheme? French Chaotic with a hint of chem lab 101.
Love – What is your favorite part of homemaking? Clean sheets!!! They make me giddy, I tell you!
Mop – Y/N? Mop shmop, I sweep and occaisionally wash by hand.
Nylons –
yeah, right.
Oven – Do you use the window or open the door to check? I open the door.
Pizza – What do you put on yours? Mushrooms and garlic.
Quiet -yes, please, quiet would be nice. bahahaha!
Recipe card box – Y/N ? no but 25-30 cookbooks which I use for inspiration.
Style of house - old 1820′s cape
Tablecloths and napkins – Y/N? yes, cloth.
Under the kitchen sink – Organized or toxic wasteland? nothing really under there, only sponges and paintbrushes and industrial sized vinegar for cleaning EVERYTHING.
Vacuum - yes, please, that would be nice, thanks.
Wash – How many loads of laundry do you do per week? Trev does most of the laundry and it appears that he does a TON but I do not keep track, I am too busy eating bonbons and washing my hair.
X’s – Do you keep a list of things to do that you cross off? I hate lists, I make them and then resent them for telling me what to do (stupid, I know, because I made them but…)
Yard – Y/N? Who does what? We both mow the lawn/s and we have the fields cut by a neighbor.
Zzz’s – What is your last homemaking task before going to bed? Eat the last cookie, flush the toilet and make sure there is enough wood in the woodbox.
It’s a rough life but somebody has to live it.

You’re quite the domestic goddess!
Around here we trade sexual favors for clean sheets! Clean sheets are *so* *darn* *good*!!!
Sounds absolutely lovely!!
I am a clean sheet fanatic as well… unfortunately, no one to trade favors with like Lynn but I do pay my sister to change mine
Where can I find a man who does laundry?
*lol* I LOVE the last one!
bahaha I love eating bonbons and washing my hair, too… and you can tell. similar to the donut phenomenon.
You’re so cute.
Clean sheets really are the BEST!
i love donuts…they stick to my bum too, sadly, or i would eat more of them!
Washing your hair and eating bon bons?? I need to get MY husband to do the laundry here that sounds wonderful!!

Sheets fresh from the clothesline…mmmm…nothing and I mean NOTHING…not even chocolate can take the place of that.
That’s great! Mopping and dishes are my hated chores, but I love love love doing laundry. Something about clean smelling clothes makes me feel so content
This was so fun to read! I will have to come back and steal it one day!
You and I are soulmates ya know.
Thought of you while I was in Maine over the past week!
I love this! I’ll be posting mine.
Lucky you to have such a rough life to live!!! Enjoyed reading.
All I can say is I love you Julie. You brings so many smiles to my heart. Thanks! I am glad someone is living such a life. There needs to be more that are similar in simplicity, love, humor, and beauty.
I just read back to catch up a bit. I adore all the photo’s of Paris. How wonderful. I am so happy you were able to have that adventure. How fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing. I am longing to travel. It is nice to be able to get a small taste of it through your experiences.
Too funny. And dreamy. I’m laughing about your X’s, partly because my list misery loves company. I’m trying to do it all from memory, but stuff keeps falling off.
I hung a load of clothes outside about fifteen minutes ago although right now we are using our drying rack on the deck. Putting up a clothesline is on the March “to do” list.
Dear Julie,
I happily stumbled upon you here and decided I must link to you because you are so beautiful and alive! I hope this is ok with you? Please let me know!
Peace,
M
