5-6 days was long enough to absorb a great deal but barely long enough to adjust to the time change (6 hours). I would not go longer though, as this was the longest I could stand to be away from my family.

I want to take another trip somewhere far away and new in a few years or whenever I can save up enough to go. Don’t know where yet, the world is a big place. But I will do this again; it was amazing for my spirit and has given me such a needed boost. And I want to see it all, all of it!!! I do!

Thr kids and Trev did fine although Trevor had a rough week; we had a big snowstorm and he had to plow our massive driveway with both kids in the plowtruck and then tipped the truck nose-end of the edge of the drive and was stuck (blocking the unplowed driveway) for a day and a half until a neighbor could come and help dig it out. On the fourth day, T and Jesse were sledding and they dumped and Trevor dislocated his finger and had to go the emergency room with the kids, etc. But they did fine, the kids missed me but had some special time just with Daddy and they loved that.

and now I can be with my babes and smell their heads and hold them and this is just the thing.

My kids are loving these photos and they seem to be every bit as happy for you as I am!
All that happened, yet they survived. You can go on your next big trip sans worries!
Oh…..and poor , poor Trevor. Big pat on the back for a job well done and a swig of “the good stuff” for a sore finger.
I’m so glad you got to go. What a dream. And what a dear, sweet supportive husband you have. And what a special time for you and your mom. I will now live vicariously through your pictures.
It is just so beautiful. I am so inspired to save up and go.
Amazing!!!!!
I’m glad that you went and had that special time and I’m glad that you are back home with the kidlets. Your photos make me catch my breath. I lurve them! You’re the bomb dot com!
You so make me want to go to Paris!! I always thought that you would need two weeks to do a trip like that (too long to be away from my kids), but you make me feel like a week is possible!!
I am glad that the kids and Trev survived and that you are back home where you belong!!
I loved walking the streets of Paris at night, you can feel the city…
Poor Trevor!! See — you leave town and it all goes to hell in a handbasket. I’m sure he’s happy to see you (as are the kiddos too no doubt).
As a side note: Oh I’m so happy full skirts are coming back!! I can hardly contain myself.
Lovely!!!!
Poor Trev… being Mr.mom isn’t that easy after all. I’m glad no one got hurt in the truck tip and all that was jammed was a figer Phew!
Go Trev for holding down the fort so you could explore the world and YOURSELF a little too. Good man!
That would be enough time for me too. I love to go, but not for too long. I am a master at the 3-4 trip
Your trip sounds so magical. I’m enjoying the photos. I’m also glad you are back.
Good to go–and good to get back. A perfect trip!
Thank you for sharing the pics…just gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing the pics…just gorgeous!
I knew you would have wondeful pics! Glad you had such an amazing trip and thanks for letting me vicariously enjoy it too!
It was an amazing trip Julie! I’m so happy that you and your Mom had such a great time. (You took some wonderful pictures–I love the B&W one of your Mom with the Eiffel tower in the background). FWIW, I find international travel to be addicting–there are just so many interesting people to meet, different places to explore and of course, delicious food to eat!
Your joy is infectious!
Kiss Jess’s finger for me… muah!
So glad your trip was such a good thing for you. I had a week of empty house not long ago and it was like being in a different country. I loved it—but alas, no pictures to show how great it was. And I love them being home again as well. Traveling adds depth to the soul, I think. Glad you were able to go.
Lovely. So glad for you. Lisa
What a wonderful place to have seen, smelled and tasted! I love the rainy street shots especially!
You and your mom both have the most glorious, kind and happy faces.
I’d hug ya both if I could.
I am glad that you had the chance to do this. It seems so magical.
Exquisite! Thank you!
I was wondering about the daddy! Was he jealous? Of course not…he’s a great daddy.
Wonderful pics!!!
I popped over here because I had read before you left and I kept saying to myself “I need to go see how her trip went” but kept forgetting…
I am glad you were able to go- it looks great!
