Winter Sign
And this, on our bedroom window this morning
“There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you…. In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.” ~Ruth Stout

Looks like Jack Frost decided to paint you a masterpiece! Beautiful!

it makes me happy.
Those are absolutely gorgeous. ♥
I miss winter.
Beautiful!
Ohhh that is so BEAUTIFUL!!! Like one of a kind artwork! I want WINTER! What a fine sight to wake to.
They are gorgeous. With the except that it means that there is heat escaping somewhere.
Hugs’n'Smooches!
Oh. So beautiful. I’ve always wanted to have that on my windows.
OHH wow how beautiful
truly amazing!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Julie — it seems like magical things happen for you and you alone — or is it perhaps that you are quiet enough to notice them and the rest of the world is just too damn busy???
So pretty–reminds me of the Little House books with Laura and Mary getting thimbles to scratch designs onto the frosty windows.
Ohhh, just like in Rochester when I was growing up! I loved looking at iced windows.
(I also just heard it was -19 in Maine??)
looks like feathers….very pretty!
That’s so pretty!
Frost ferns. Beautiful. Blessings abound
How beautiful!!
That’s awesome. I’ve never seen frost like that in my life.
Utterly beautiful. If you do not come up with a book of quotes and photographs some day, you are cheating the world. You have such an eye for what is visually beautiful, and such an ear for what is philosophically and spiritually profound, and well-said. I look forward to your posts, always, for so many reasons, but posts like this are like miniature middle-of-the-day vacations for my soul. Thank you. Lisa
Wow!
Nature’s beauty captured by juliepersons-Again! I’ve never seen anything like it before. Thank you!
That is so pretty!!
Beautiful!! What kind of camera do you have?
Kristen
I do so love those feathery window patterns. Sadly, they don’t happen on my windows here. Snow blows under the back door which is hardly lovely.
oooooooh those are beautiful!
Beautiful. Jack Frost doesn’t paint such pretty pictures on our windows.
Jack Frost has been visiting, and has left some art for you!
Sheer loveliness.
And that is why I love winter.
Even tho’ this is my first real one, I don’t know how I ever lived without it.
I want my windows to do that, too.
Oh, that’s gorgeous.
I love frost. And I adore Ruth Stout, smart lady she is. I just happen to have her book pulled out and on my desk this minute. Mulch mulch mulch and more mulch.
That’s lovely.
I had forgotten how frosty my windows would get growing up in Maryland. They never looked like yours. Those pictures are rare. Nature’s etched glass. I love this Patti Griffin song — I never knew I liked her.
Oh that’s gorgeous! Isn’t so funny that Jack Frost paints tropical-looking leaves on your window?
He painted on my windshield yesterday, too…come see…
Love the pictures! And Ruth Stout! I love Ruth Stout!!! She is my gardening muse!
beautiful – looks so cold
These are amazing- something so simple and yet so few caputre. They are their own work of art – eh?
