It Snows And We Watch Star Wars
and have popcorn with the Boobettes
(with bonus brain spew)
~finally, it snows and looks like January here! The beauty of the family bed in winter is you can keep the heat at 55 at night and know that everyone is warm and toasty.
~ the ugliness of the family bed is the pirate breath.
~I now have a new passport!
~The turd-slingers at cheaptickets.com have made an error and refuse to correct it as I have no proof of a discussion we had when I called a month ago. I am working with my CC company to dispute the charges. I will go to Paris and I will NOT over pay.(hmph!)
~speaking of the small and semi-brainless; we have been buying and eating prawns galore! This is the prawn season in the Northeast and you can buy them with shells on for only .99 per pound.
They are heavenly.
~I am seeing all of the Star Wars movies with Jesse and loving them! The only one I saw in the 70′s was the very first one and so they are all new to me. Luke is still infinately cuter than Han and the whole thing reminds me of my mega-passionate-desire for Wonder Bread back then because it had Star Wars bubble gum cards in it. My mother never bought Wonder Bread because it was made of glue and paste and white flour. I still want my Star Wars cards.
~still have not been inside a Starbucks, although I had a very close call on Friday.
~I am thinking about the boobettes and how happy they make me and how wonderful it is to just do what you love and have your kids nearby while they read and play and build things and ask questions and sing songs with you. How wonderful for them to see their mother following her heart and unschooling herself.
Really, you could say I am doing it all for the children
(yessss, that’s it)
pregnancy is beautiful in any color
Brain Spew!
Heard Recently:
“I saw an Oprah show on women with big butts and how it’s all about finding the right pair of pants and I thought of you” (my mother to my sister)
Maybe she should have suggested one of these:
(I found this ad in an old Life magazine from the 70′s)
“I was saving that pickle juice!!!” (Jesse to Dad)
“Why should I change this shirt, it only has a bunch of food on it, it’s not like the grocery store is like, a fancy place where they won’t let me in or anything!” (Jesse to me)- “you smell like toast and bath soap, I love you” (Roo, to me)
Sundays are good.

Damn, that is a good deal on prawns!!! My mouth is a bit watery! Sundays are good. = )
lol to those pants!
Those trim jeans are hideous!
Jesse and I have the same general attitude about the grocery store.
Paris! Paris? When are you going? When?? When??? WHEN????????????????
ohnoooo, your mom actually said that?? haha that reminds me of my grandma — she likes it when we pudge out, she calls it ‘good body.’ in a hawaiian accent, of course.
MMmm, prawns. *drool* Sundays are so very cozy, and yup, pirate breath is the BANE of family bedding. Maybe THAT’S what keeps it so toasty!
Lovin’ ALL the Boobettes. Sinply “boobiful.”
I love, love the lyrics to this song. You have to tell me the song title and artist. Wow, that but thing looks like a silver beach chair. Inflatable diet.
There’s something about your boobettes that makes my want to sing Sponge Bob’s Goofy Goober song, except:
I’m a nursing Boober, Yeah,
You’re a nursing Boober, Yeah
We’re all nursing Boobers, Yeah
Nursey, nurseey, nursey, nursey, nursey, nursey Boobers YEAH!
Those are some slick pants.
I would gobble up all the prawns too! What a deal. I would like the song info too
The song is “Poor Man’s House” by Patty Griffin.
I still prefer Hans (or Han.) Luke always seemed so, well, blonde.
It is wonderful when you can do your own creative and profitable activity with your children nearby. Creative is good enough, but profitable is that extra happy bonus.
My kids can’t be in the blacksmith shop so often, but they do often sit and draw when I’m designing or sketching for a project. My son drew a railing and offered to sell me the design for a dollar.
My daughter was intrigued by that last photo of the thigh & butt trimming air pants.
Oooh! They are accessorizing now! Nice!
You’re pretty darn cool.
my butt looks like that without the pants…
It’s snowing here too.
I miss being able to buy the little shrimps on the side of the road. before my shell fish allergy hit, I would make a few trips this time of the year. I’d buy as much as my coolers could hold. what we didn’t feast on immediately, we froze. Those were some good old days. Blessings abound
Perhaps the boy has some digestion problems and that is why he has the pirate breath? Bad breath is often a digestion or gut issue more than a dental hygene one…
I am reading you and some of your friends for guidance and inspiration, just so you know. And you can see my protected now in case you were wondering who the hell I am.
Toast and bath soap. How perfect.
Why in the world did those trim jeans go out? wonder if I can find me a pair
I love sundays too!
I wish my boobs were still that perky after breastfeeding
Boy am I with you on the pros and cons of the family bed! Snow, boobettes, Maine seafood…what more could a girl want? Lovely!
I hope you get your ticket situation taken care of…geez.
hmm prawns. the only seafood I like. Sean tells me I am an anti-marylanders being that I very much dislike crabs. ick.
Eva has these tights we wore today and every time I see them I think of Roo!
My 11 year old often does drive-by sniffing…”mmmm, Mommy smell!”
I love shrimp…mmmmhhhhh…..I have all the ice from our storm to keep them fresh…
LOL. Are those Trim Jeans certified for space travel?
Those prawns look fab. They remind me of the crawdads I used to hunt as a child.
The “trim jeans” are totally cracking me up! hehehe
I can’t believe that your faily watched Star Wars yesterday! That is exactly what we did here! I think that I have seen #4 (or the first made) in the 70′s but I don’t remember it much so I really wanted to see them all with my children. Here I thought we were being all special and unique! haha
Kerry
Sundays are good! So are snow day Mondays.
ha – that sounds like something my son would try to say with the food on the shirt, etc. “It’s only Home Depot! Everyone there has dirty clothes!” That’s because they are working men…
And I have to admit that I loved watching all the Star Wars films with my son, too, and learning the ins and outs of it all… it seemed to have passed me by the first time, in the 1970s.
the boobettes become more beautiful by the day…where do you find the time to make them? they look so intricate…peaceful…loving…
We did a two week long Star Wars marathon. They watched them over and over. We just got Phantom Menace fromthe library and are going to preview to see if it is kid friendly.
Please enlighten me on fish oil for depression./
Laughing so hard!!! “the ugliness of the family bed is the pirate breath.”
We call it Family bed Dragon breath
———-
Have you ever had a Starbucks coffee? And their passion Tea with Valencia is oh so good!!!
My kids love the Star Wars movies and watch them over and over.
The pants in that ad are HIDEOUS!! I’m glad I was a child of the ’80′s with all of that high fashion
Pirate breath! LOL! Does that include the dog?
My hubby saves pickle juice too. Tell Jesse he is not alone.
Thanks for turning me onto patty griffin! and daily inspiration and laughs.
Toast and bath soap- awww! Those are definitely “mommy smells”. Lisa
I have to disagree…Han is way more heavenly than Luke.
I told my husband I wanted a sauna suit the other day…not to lose weight, but to wear around….everywhere. Now that I see those waist-trimmers up there….I wish those were available to wear instead.
