      Extra, Extra!

     Woman Wakes To Discover She Has Slept Until 10:45 AM And Finds Her Husband And Children Playing Happily Downstairs And The Earth Remains In It's Rotation!

    Miss Juliepersons of Farming-ville awoke this morning to a shocking discovery, she had Slept IN!

    "I used to do this when I was younger" she said "but that was back in college, I didn't know I still had it in me!" .

     "She looks 7 years younger, at least!" her husband noted "and she's as frisky as a kitten"!

    Even her children can see a difference, "Mummy, you smell good", remarked her 3 yo daughter, Roo.

      "My Mummy has messy hair but she seems extra happy" said her 7 yo son, Jesse.

    When asked how she felt about the whole event, ms juliepersons said,

    "well, it's hard to put in into words but I feel so...so, so, ummm, what's the word I am looking for here...?

    "Rested, that's it!!! I feel RESTED!!!"

  • A Daily Update in Bullet Points

    • played in snow/slush until soggy and red-cheeked.

    • played with holiday Playmobil and tried not to stick it up our noses (or in our ears)

    • ate carrot cake for breakfast, and more of it for lunch.

    • I finally figured out how to knit ribbing and can pearl/knit back and forth without my (heavily right-sided) brain imploding !  Wahoo!!

    You Are 10% Left Brained, 90% Right Brained

    The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
    Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
    If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
    Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

    The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
    Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
    If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
    Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

    Delights, Amusements, Bad Hair

    yesterday, two massive boxes came for me from my MIL,

    they were filled with wool yarn, 3 hand cards and a drop spindle.

    (in the center, that darkish pile consists of 12 skeins from her Navajo Churro sheep, Midnight and on the right are another 8 from her Churro, Rags.)

    Holy Canoli, that is one pile of wool!

    Avert your eyes as I do the bizarre happy dance of gratitude.

    ~~~~~
    The key to frumpy morning hair?
    put a sparkly clip in it and no-one will notice!!
    Hope your day is joyful and shriek-free.
    My Most Embarrassing Moment #8
    (in an unlimited series)
    ~~~~~

    I was working in a lovely shop in Maine 13 years ago and was responsible for opening and closing the store.

    This included turning all fans and lights on/off.

    There was a switch in the dressing room which was marked "do not touch". I never touched the lever intentionally but one day I flipped it by accident as I was turning lights on and could not see what I was doing.

    The switch flipped on a fan which vented out the chimney of this three story building.

    The chimney had been stuffed (quite foolishly) with styrofoam peanuts as insulation.

    When I flipped the fan on, it blew three stories worth of styrofoam peanuts up into the sky causing them to rain/snow down on the entire downtown area.

    I was unaware of this until I looked outside and thought,

    "who is the GOOBER who let these styrofoam eggs blow all over town?"

    That would be me.

    ahem, yup.

    Just Another Amazing Ordinary Day

    ~~~
    Wee Odd Felted Creaturettes
    Rapunzel (wide-eyed and arm-less)
     Nancy Sinatra (without the boots)
    Am I the only one who wants to make felted women dolls with breasts and fierce eyebrows?
    (I'll show those later)
     P.S. I ADORE this song by the Weepies (the music currently playing),
    "Stars"
    Tangerines are hanging heavy, glowing marigolden hues
    Teasing a half-pale moon
    And I feel a pull to the blue-velvet dark and stars.
    Pink Magnolia, blushing and coy
    Savors the sun while she shines
    You've got yours and I've got mine
    Together we glide through the blue-velvet dark and stars
    All it takes is a little faith, and a lot of heart
    Back and forth we ply these oars
    They move in time and get entwined
    Green with joy then gray with sorrow
    Ripened fruit that falls tomorrow
    Filling us with brilliance
    Branches are bare with a pulse underneath
    Flowering slowly inside
    Your hands are warm and my body is wide
    To hold all the promise of blue-velvet dark and stars
    All it takes is a little faith and a lot of heart
    Sweetheart
    And Trev and I have made a giant batch of homemade Kahlua to gift.
    Today, the kids and I made ornaments for gifts and for our tree
    • out of salt dough to dry and paint
    • out of twigs and bark and lichen
    • out of little homemade paintings
    • I made some odd little felted creatures, not sure they are gift-able, they are rather freaky (I love them, though).
