Roo, In Bullet Points
~~~~~
She is:
37 months
a shrieker extraordinaire
lean and graceful on her toes
a friend to dinosaurs
lover of slugs and worms and books about lizards- eater of the world’s smallest bites
in love with berries
a water girl
a nose picker
an emotional and dramatic dancer (with lots of spinning and curtsy-ing and pantomime)
flamboyant fashionista who requires 3-6 changes of clothing a day, just because
barefoot
my dreamlet
confident
proud
free
the loveliest little love.
She has:
- a reccurring tangle at the back of her head from sleeping so busily
- a penchant for undies
- nightly dreams about food
- only jammies with zippers because it is the only kind she likes
- a dollhouse which she rarely plays with and when she does, it is only to cram the whole doll family in the wooden doll bathtub.
- long skinny toes
- a gift for knowing how you truly feel
She Says:
- “According to my book, we should__”
- (dryly, when Jess tells a joke) “har, har, har…”
- “I can do whatever I want to, Johnny Boy” (usually to me or her Daddy)
- “I farted, let’s call Mimi”
- “Can we play the 6 billion dollar man game?”
- Can we play Snail’s Pace race again?”
- “Can I have another apple?”
- “another bath, please?”
- “spah-gebbi”
- (she sings)”jingle bells, Jesse smells, Rudolph ran away!!!!!”
“Are you awake Mummy? Daddy? It’s me, Roooooo!!”
she smells like cinnamon and coconut and clean skin
“I love you because you love me, Mummy, and we both love Daddy and Jesse and Jesse is a boy and Daddy is a man and you are a woman and I am a girl and we all love each other”
She is everything she needs to be, and more.
I love your appreciation of your children!
This is one of the most gorgeous posts. I am full of warm fuzzies.
What a special little gal, and a special mum, too.
I finally started cutting my daughter’s hair short in back and leaving it to frame her face in front- to avoid that recurrent tangled dreadlock in the back. She absolutely hates having her hair combed or brushed, and the haircut lets her avoid it.
She’s beautiful!
That is just beautiful, just like your daughter! I think you captured her very essance in words so that we all feel like we know her almost as well as you do!
Lovely, beautiful! What a lucky girl to have you as her mama!
And she is perfectly who she is. Really, wonderful.
*sniff*
You have forever changed my outlook on parenting…Your kids make me want them sooner and sooner with every post I write…They are like little surprise bas of personality and gifts they bring to the world…You are most inspiring and your children are the most beautiful I have seen!
xo
My new favorite quote of all time, “I farted, let’s call Mimi.” !!!! I laughed til I cried!
Merry Christmas!
I love how you let your kids be people& enjoy it too.
sweet photo of the two of you!
She is a precious little package.
She is so precious!
Well, I love her!
What a fabulous individual!! And what a wonderful observant momma to see and recognize all the little details that make her who she is.
She’s quite the person! I adore the 2nd photo of you two together. You can see ALL the love there in that moment!!
they are soo cute~
I love this post. My daughter Hannah was born on my 36th birthday after many trials and tribulations to get pregnant. I call her my “birthday gift from God”. I tell her everyday that I love her, and her reply? “I love you more, Mommy”. She too is my drama queen, my darling diva, my best friend, and so very thoughtful. There is a song that Martina McBride recorded called “In My Daughter’s Eyes”…I can’t help but cry when I hear it, it’s so fitting. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy, healthy New Year…I’ll be away from a computer for more than a week…now that’s roughin’ it! ~Midge
((((awww)))) love love love.
My daughter shares some similarities, she loves slugs, has slender long toes and fingers too, she gets that same tangle in addition to that she also usually has sticky tangles on the sides of her face. Those would be from pretending to be a dog while eating. She loves to pretend to be a dog and has for two years now. You’d be surprised how fast she can run on four legs.
Wow she’s really something special, isn’t she?
Simply Beautiful!
I’m in love!
Happy.
