Good Morning Blog
le tree (procured in our forest despite the shriek-fest complete with nervous breakdown mode of small-ish ones yesterday)
le monkey with zee new hat
le bag for my trip (knitted up during shriek-fest)
zee playmobil donkey sniffs le heiny of zee reindeer and it is, how do you say, hilarious?
(O.K., enough French practice for today, I just annoyed myself doing that, I can only imagine how it makes you feel)

Delights, Amusements, Bad Hair
yesterday, two massive boxes came for me from my MIL,
they were filled with wool yarn, 3 hand cards and a drop spindle.
(in the center, that darkish pile consists of 12 skeins from her Navajo Churro sheep, Midnight and on the right are another 8 from her Churro, Rags.)
Holy Canoli, that is one pile of wool!
Avert your eyes as I do the bizarre happy dance of gratitude.

The key to frumpy morning hair?
put a sparkly clip in it and no-one will notice!!
Hope your day is joyful and shriek-free.

OK, was baby Jesus not in the shot, or do you not bring him out until Christmas day like my mother-in-law does? Love the yarn. I’m intrigued by the felting, but haven’t found a pattern of something I’d like to do yet. Love your picture this time…sparkly clip included! You look soooo young in this picture!

and you are so cute julie! i love the clip
It’s all so beautiful! I love the little black bird atop your tree. And the wool…don’t even get me started on the wool! Enjoy it all!
Yikes — that is an amazing pile of wool! Is the stuff from her sheep already spun or are you going to do it? I couldn’t make out in the picture. My sister used to have a spinning wheel and one summer she got bags of wool from a local farmer to spin — we had to wash them in the back yard because they were… like… NOT CLEAN if you know what I mean (full of POO). That was unlovely. But she did get other wool that she successfully carded and spun and dyed and knitted. An adventure.
ANYWAY… I also love your charming stripey bag! So completely cute! This is why people give you mountains of wool — because you make it into fabulous things!
this post made me feel all christmas-y! i love the tree, it looks gorgeous.
oh stop it – your hair ALWAYS looks adorable!
If only a sparkly clip could fix my hair so easily!
I’m still drooling over the yarn!
I wish my mil would send me a box like that!!!
Your sparkly clip brings out the shine in your beautiful blue eyes.
No luck on the shriek-free thing. Of course, joyful shrieks are welcome anytime.
You just crack me up!!You look daaaahling in the clippie photo!
I love everything about this post!!!! I love the tree, the monkey, the bag, the butt-sniffing, the wool (with 3 hand hards and drop spindle!) and the pretty face and sexy, bed head hair (with sparkly clip!)
((((hugs))))
Wow that is a lot of beautiful yarn! Happy knitting/felting! PS. I don’t often comment but I found your blog through my mother’s, becmom’s, and I love it. You remind me of the goodness I grew up with, simple living and doing what you can with what you have to make the world a better place. I hope that as my husband and I start our own family and have our own children that we can be as true to who we are and as self aware and self actualized as you seem to be. I love your beautiful photos of your children and how you strive to give them freedom to learn and grow naturally and healthy. I also love this bloging comunity. We each work at living responsibly in our own ways and it is inspiring and suportive. Thanks for being so present here, even in such an open and public place.
