  • Spontaneity, It’s What’s For Breakfast

So, I’ve been thinking about taking a trip for the last year.  My feet have been itching to go somewhere and I have been struggling with the challenge of Roo and her issues with riding in car seats and screeching.  And then It occurred to me last week, why can’t I go somewhere with a friend?  A vacation just for rest and renewal and exploration of a new place.  Why not? It has been over 8 years.

    Why not, indeed.

So yesterday morning it struck me that perhaps my mother would be the person to go with; she never goes anywhere and it would be a great excuse to do something she would NEVER do otherwise and we could spend some time together. I started looking for simple trips within the U.S. and found ticket prices in the $300-$400 range.   While we have little money and this will be a financial challenge, we could handle this.

But wait, are there other options?

    YES THERE ARE!!!!!!

    So I called her up,

”Mum, you want to go on a vacation with me in March, just the two of us?”

” yes, that would be great, where are you thinking we could go?”

“Paris, Mum, let’s go to Paris!”

“What?! Really?! We could DO that?!”

    “YES we can!”

    “Then let’s go to Paris!!!”

And I booked the tickets (only $319.00 round trip, each!!!!!) and we are going in early March.

    Just. like. that.

Who says I’m not still spontaneous?

    wheeeeeeee…

P.S. Trevor will be watching the kids for a whole week!  (I’m “cashing in”all those 3-4 week herp trips he has taken over the past 7 years)
