Good Stuff, Amusements
(And Turkeys I Have Known)
Good Stuff
A Goodwill store grand opening loaded with great buys; books for work, new sheepskin slippers, new LL Bean slip on boots/shoes, a tourmaline ring, a sterling baby bracelet for Roo (Christmas), new puppets for Roo (also Christmas),circular knitting needles and other bounty.
The man at the fish market said I had beautiful hair (and made my week!)
All of you for being so sweet about my last post, Thanks for the support! This self portrait journey has taken me places I never thought I’d dare go and I am freed by it weekly.
I dug up some childhood pics of Trev and am having them made into coasters for Christmas
This kills me, I love it so much!
Amusements
- I have always fancied older men (yes, I’m sure you remember my odd penchant for Steve Martin) and the age I have always fancied is around 45-50. So what happens when I reach that age and then pass it? Will I then like “younger” men? And what about Steve, will I still love him then?
Turkeys I Have Known
- all the guys who ever dumped me (before I had the chance to dump them)
- the kid who punched me on the bus in 3rd grade and made me lose my breath.
- the guy who tried to steal our generator (in AZ) and I had to run him off with our 67′ Chevy.
- my chemistry teacher in 9th grade who made me think having breasts was a curse (by staring at them and making me feel rotten).
- the guy in 10th grade who nicknamed me “wedge” because he caught me fixing my panties. He called me that for the next 2.5 years.
- the person who broke into our car in Maine and stole our stereo and tools.
- the person who broke into our car in AZ and smashed all our windows and stole NOTHING.
- whomever broke into our computer last year and stole ALL of our info and charged up a small fortune in toll calls to porn sites.
Ah, this feels really good. I know it is a bit of a downer post in a season of gratitude but sometimes you just have to let it out. I will stop now or I will be here all night. I have board games to play with my husband and a bottle of wine with our names on it. The turkeys can wait.
Hope your Thanksgiving is full of love!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Boo on the Turkeys!! Yay for Goodwill bounty, random sincere compliments (especially about things we don’t already think highly of about ourselves. That’s my addition – I have no idea how you feel about your hair!) And… doesn’t everyone think Steve Martin is hot? He just gets better & better.
I’m a member of the SteveMartin Lust Club!
Happy Thanksgiving, Julie, to you and your wonderful family. I am thankful for you, too!
Sounds like you have a wonderful evening planned. I think that it is a good idea to list your turkeys, it makes you more greatful for how happy you are right now.
Sending lots of love your way. I’m thankful for knowing you.

You need to let the turkeys out before the grattitude can fill you up……..good move!
And what a good read this was!!! You might have to back up and tell us more about some of these turkey stories, though….(-:
The kids are soooo happy!!! We’ve had Pippi and Pippi and Pippi and Milo and Otis making them laugh all yesterday afternoon, evening, and this morning. ((Thank You))!!!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TODAY
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
Hee hee… you running off the robber with your truck… That’s my laugh for today. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Now I don’t only come here to read but also to listen…..awesome picks!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Great finds at Goodwill. Cute picture of the childhood husband. I too have a picture of n=my husband when he was about six years old up on the farm. He was adorable. Makes me feel good to look at it.
I too like older gentlemen. I have an infatuation with Kevin Costner. Mostly it is just his voice. I love to hear him talk. For what ever reason it seems that what ever comes out of his mouth just sounds like it will be intelligent.
You ran off someone with a Chevy? You are my new heroine. Turkeys happen. You just have to roast them. But don’t forget to baste them, first.
That’s one cute mini-Trevor.
I wish I had an LL Bean Thrift Store.
OMG. Those swimming trunks are hilarious! Are they crocheted!?!?! Hehehe. The things they did to us children in the 70s. Oy.
I fancy older men too…..and have wondered the same thing about what will happen as I age.
Such a cute picture of Trevor!!!
