A Proposition, A Question and a Truth
The Proposition
We have an over abundance of children’s videos and the kids are getting tired of the majority of them, anyone want to swap 10 or 20 with us to keep things fresh? Ours are for age range 4-8-ish and I’d be glad to send some titles to anyone who is interested.
The Question
What do you think of the music? Is it distracting? When people have music on their blogs consistantly do you get used to it and feel sad when it changes or do you get tired of it? Thoughts?
A Truth
While we were away on vacation our neighbor not only fixed our broken tractor but dragged/repaired our bumpy, mess-of-a-dirt-driveway
And this for no reason other than he is kind and we are his neighbors.
It’s a good world.
Sleep peacefully…

That was sweet of your neighbor.
I don’t listen to the music to be honest. I’ve got the africam on almost all the time so I turn the music down.

Personally……I love the music. It’s always a nice surprise when someone has music on their blog. I am just IN LOVE with this song you have right now.
What a beautiful neighbor you have.
I like the music. I put music on my xanga all the time, depending upon my mood.
Hooray for synergestic events…….I just boxed up a bunch of vids yesterday! (same age range) I’m trying to make our collection smaller…email me! Let’s swap! (although since I am trying to make our collection smaller-I might want to just take a few of yours and give you my whole she-bang) (-: ((chuckle)) Email me!
Music on blogs makes the load time slow down waaayyyyy much for me. I usually don’t have the speaker on much of the time that I am up in the wee hours blogging. (-:
You have a golden neighbor!!!!! Give that man a blueberry smoothie! (or better yet, a whole yummy dinner of yours!)
i usually have my volume turned down so i don’t hear the music. i heard it last night because jaden was playing games at starfall.com and i went to read blogs and it popped on…so it doesn’t really affect me one way or the other.
what a great neighbor you have!
I come here just to listen to the song sometimes. One of my favorites. Adds to the feeling of the blog too.
I like the music – I don’t like the music on some sites because it can be very distracting, but the music you chose is quite soothing.
hooray for nice neighbours!
i don’t care for music on blogs, I usually read through the subscription page and only click if I want to comment, and by the time a song gets started, I’m gone. plus I’m usually on the computer while nursing babe to sleep and it startles her and wakes her up if I haven’t remembered to turn volume off
I like the music. What bugs me is not knowing who the artist is or what the song is.
I would trade some movies up if you wanted. I’m not a fan of music on blogs typically…but I do like yours. But I’m a folk music type girl. And…I heart your neighbor. I’ve got neighbors like that…I call it community. Communal living at a distance.
I’m not usualy a big fan of the music, only because I’m always listening to my own tunes, so then it becomes a tangled mess of beats and words.
Your neighbour rules!
I tend to keep the sound on my computer turned off as I find it distracting, so it doesn’t bother me that you have it there. But once I happened on someone’s blog that had some music andI had my sound on. I loved it and ended up buying 3 albums by the guy.
Well… you know I love music. It is a vital part of my exsistance. So yes, I like music playing as it reflects the spirit of the blogger. The last video/music I featured (enya/LOTR) is a good example of “me”. But then again, so is Ozzy Osbourne…
I’m complicated…
Maybe your neighbor would like some of that rockin’ juice you canned this summer, and some cookies!
I like music, but not on blogs. I want to choose to turn it off and on myself. I usually push the stop button on my web browser once the photos are downloaded.
Macastat has it set up so you can pause or stop the music without stopping the photos downloading, which is nice.
You have a great neighbor. These dirt/gravel driveways can be a mess.
I would love to do some tape swapping but mine are aimed for the younger crowd, lots of Blues Clues (Steve) and Veggie Tales.
The music does not bother me because I have no speakers.
That is really awesome about your neighbor! We just moved and I am hoping that we have and can be thoughtful neighbors.
I know I’m the last of the mohicans out here in BFE, but being that I’m on 28.8 dial-up, music is a real pain for me. It keeps pages from loading. I think I would love it otherwise and I’ve often wondered what song would be on my page.
Sweet neighbor!
Yes, it is a good world.
Jessica
I agree.. it is a good world… sometimes you hear more about the “not so good stuff” that goes on… but the good is still out there… we just have to look for it.
what kind of movies do you have to trade… I have a huge collection here… kids are getting older and don’t seem to watch them much anymore… just sitting here collecting dust….
I like the music by the way…
Jandara
Good neighbours are damn hard to find.
We are also blessed with our neighbours.
I would like to be able to click on music on a blog…because if you like it then I might too…then it acts as a feature, rather than a repeating sort of thing…
I’d consider trading videos but I think the boys would be sad…mostly we have Thomas the Tank Engine, anyway….
and yes, I think you are right…it is important to remember that the world can be so full of good too…lots of love…
I’ll have to come back and hear your music. I usually keep my speakers off, because I am not a big fan of music on blogs. Too distracting for me…I have the attention span of a gnat. Anyway, I turned my speakers on because I was curious, but nothing is there! Scratching my head. Your neighbor is a gem.
I still can’t hear anything. Now I am VERY curious. What are you playing?
I liked the song before this one a lot. Would you post somewhere what you are playing so if we like it we can add it to our library?
I’d love to trade, but I don’t think our vidoes are age appropriate for Jesse, just for Roo.
i usually have the volume off when i am on the computer, but if i don’t i enjoy the music:) your neighbors totally rock:)
Beautiful…miss ya, Julie!
I try to use a song or music to enhance my posts… thus the song changes quite regularly.
What a wonderful neighbor! Honestly, the music today is distracting, but the music you had on the kid’s Halloween pictures blog entry was nice! I find that I don’t mind listening to music on blogs, as long as it appeals to me…if not, I just turn down my speakers! Hope you have a wonderful day. ~Midge
