A Small Catastrophe and A Few Delights
The Catastrope
Jesse got a new Gameboy for his birthday and has been madly playing a Lego Knights Kingdom game on it. The cartridge has a multitude of levels and it takes Jess a few days of hair-pulling, jaw-clenching practice to get through the level and on to the next (and when you get to the end of the level you are issued a password and that allows you to keep your win and continue on in the future).
Jesse finally beat this one beast of a level this afternoon and was so thrilled he flung himself up the stairs and
smack-down.
the code was gone, on to the next screen.
Poor kid, he needed ice cream and lots of it.

Delights
It rained today and so the kids and I took bubble baths and made molasses cookies and opened up the futon into a platform for watching movies and eating popcorn.
We played games
and cuddled in our blankets
and let the heat blow through our hair
and we were happy.
Happy like little campers.

A wonderful ending to a good good day!
(Aside of the Smack-Down!)
I remember, one year my mother and I made molasses candy (i don’t remember why) and I made a kid’s tooth fall out
. (it was already loose, but I got a bad rap after that. ha.)
Lucas would have walked himself to the psych ward if something like that happened to him. The rest of the day sounds so magical. I think I should attempt to copy it tomorrow.
hey – how did i miss your new photo website!!?? thanks for all og the HS info last week – needed it in a bad way…
That’s the best way to spend a cold day!!
Oh thats the worst! So frustrating for the little guy.
Sounds like a perfect day!! Except for the minor oops… sorry Jesse
I love rainy days when we can stay home and veg out like that.
gorgeous little people! so full of joy!
my condolences to Jesse!
Ice cream cures so many ills.
Poor guy, but your day sounded fun.
We used to have picnics inside with our movie days! So much fun! ds#2 is a gameboy player, and I have witnessed the agony and the joy. Oh, and he can draw cartoons on it! How cool is that? Jesse’s looks similar…DS?
Poor Jesse! Ice cream is the great cure all.
I love indoor “camping”!
Oh that pic of Roo is so gorgeous! They all are but that one is something else.
I hope it was as yummy of a day as it sounds. Minus the gameboy thing.
Beautiful pics on a beautiful day!
sounds like an amazing day…the hard stuff included. my son used to have so much frustration trying to beat a gym leader that he would cry. but they are learning something in that struggle. they are learning that if there is something you really want you have to keep trying, never give up.

I wish you were my mom (=
You are just too cool!!
the cold rainy weather was just calling out for spicy cookies, wasn’t it? we made gingersnaps….(which are just about all gone!!!)
Sounds like a great day! I posted the link to the craft show in my comments if you are interested….
Poor Jess! My husband would weep for him. As a part-time video game widow, you’ll have to forgive the effort it takes me to muster up a little sympathy.
Roo has the loveliest eyes.
Sounds like an absolutely wonderful day! (Minus the gameboy incident.)
: )
that sounds like a perfect day.
Happiness is bliss for sure,it is also a choice, not everyone would have had fun inside!!!!
I am passing out a blessing today.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Blessings, Numbers 6:24-26
awwww, sweetness
i love days like this. can’t wait for the rainy season here. and how did you like down by law? one of my favorite all time movies : )
mamamuse: I love it! I have seen it 11 times and it NEVER gets old!
yes, it is in my top ten, ever!
How wonderful!!!!
I dread the gameboy and you just reinforced that dread. I think we’ll stick the electric piano keyboard for the time being.
cute story
As a mom of another gameboy addict; I understand…
Wow….that’s like losing days of work. Most adults would have a major temper tantrum. Poor guy. He’s lucky to have a Mum that understands how important his work is.:)
