Thanks for sharing that! I have read three of those books and will continue looking for more. I want to unschool so badly (and actually do most days) but I am just worried about “fully” taking the plunge…especially since right now, we are in a good mix between units and unschooling. Oh well, maybe someday we will find our best niche in the scheme of things.
I love John Holt. Even though I no longer homeschool my children, I still have “Teach Your Own” in a basket near my bed.
((hugs))
I’m going to pass these links on to another xangan who has just begun homeschooling.
Thanks for the links!
Proud unschoolers here! Great links as usual J.
Thank you! What valuable resources.
Oh thanks. I’m going to browse tomorrow. And guess what??? Gabriel goes to bed because he wants to now…usually around 9pm or so. it works!!!
As always, you are full of it! Resources and info that is.
Thanks for the list. I am having fun browsing the blogs you listed. I am also looking forward to the January Life Learning issue! I hear it is going to be especially good
ooooh, thank you!!
I can’t wait to browse the blogs,I never find many unschooling blogs! I love John Holt too!
thanks, Julie, I had some of these, but definately not all…MUCH appreciated!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
I have ordered the homeschooling guide for Canada and subscribed to live free learn free magazine…In speaking with my teacher friend last night, I felt really upset with how backwards the educational system is moving…because of fear, they continue to tighten the grip on young minds forcing submission of all involved…it is terrible…
Your post was perfectly timed…thank you! Although we are going to wait another 2 to 3 years before having kids, I would like to know what we would have to do to become ready for taking our children’s learning into our own hands…I have never been one for school, but a great lover of learning…I was made for this I just know it, but am terrified too…
be.
Thank you Julie. So much information for me to play with today. Things really are going MUCH better around here. We’re all happier.
At first I thought that unschooling was just like homeschooling but for non-Christians. There is a difference though. I am learning more and more about it. Thank you for providing neat places to learn more. My oldest is almost four so were not really at school age yet. I am really having a hard time finding actual information, I can only find what seems to be abstract ideas or philosophies. I did like a lot of what I read on the new ezine you posted a few posts back. Especially the articles about letting your children make their own choices about what they eat ect. Thank you for providing us insights into a better life with our children.
Perfect timing, I’ve been looking for more unschooling info, thanks!
I am just amazed and thrilled at all the unschooling blogs popping up all over the place! I see a few new ones I need to check out!
Thank you so much for the links. I’m starting the journey to begin unschooling, and I’m scared. I work full time, but my hubby is home most of the day.
