  • The links don’t work.

But I think I’m willing to buy anything in Maine if it means I get a stream and to be your neighbor!

  • I enjoyed reading through your most recent five posts…love the photography and train of thought.

  • I’ve always fantasized about moving to Maine. When I was a little girl, people would ask me where I wanted to live and I’d say “Maine!” even though I’ve never been there. It always looks so beautiful in photos and I’ve never lived up in the far northeastern part of the country.

Now, I doubt we’ll live in Maine at some point, but maybe we can come for a visit. I see us settling in Colorado in the end. It’s central (which means easier to see relatives) and where I’m from originally. I crave the snow and mountains.

  • Oh, and no she hasn’t rung again. I hear her vacuuming though. I still feel like a shmoe for not answering. Eesh. *Blush* I did put some pants on in case she comes back, though. Hehe.

  • I can’t see the links……..says I need a password.

  • Mavournin: I just fixed it, I think.

  • oh julie you are so cruel!!!!! i loooooooooove the second one. so so very much.

one day my friend, one day!

  • The Mr emailed me a couple days ago and asked if we could move to Maine. I’ll send him the link to the one down the road from you.

  • I so want to live in Maine – not sure why just something romantic about it….and I want acres….alas…i can daydream tho, eh?

  • They are cute homes too. So what kind of employment could we all find in Maine?

  • OMG!  Way to make my moving decision much, much harder, My Dear.  I assumed Maine was outrageously expensive but those houses are beautiful and inexpensive.   Wouldn’t I die to be your neighbor?  Yes, I do believe that would be entirely too lovely.  Too bad it is so c-c-cold there, though.  You are tougher than I, I think.  Pretty sure I would freeze my undies off in Maine. :P

  • Beloved_Sunshine: the coast is expensive and other areas are more so than around here.

freeze your undies off?  Yet another case for not wearing them to start with

  • Ah, but where are the geeky tech jobs??? *sigh* I’d love to have a real winter again. But hey — was that creek house REALLY built in 1790???

  • Beautiful homes, alas it is a long way from Canada, eh?

  • beanmama: yes, it was really built then, how cool is that?  And houses really can last…ours was built in 1820 and is still in solid shape.

    geeky tech jobs?  universities, perhaps?

    mykidsmom: it is indeed, eh?

  • Wow! I think I can shut y eyes and picture myself in that last house! :) Love it!

  • That second place is gorgeous… and it is priced less than we could get for our 1100 s.f. 3 bedroom 2 bath block home here in FL. If memory serves it last appraised at $140K. Just wish it didn’t include the winters you get up there. That’s the big reason I don’t move back to VT.

Second thought… I want the last place instead.

    You cruel cruel woman!! ;)

  • Absolutely beautiful… and CRIMINALLY cheap. Seriously, I’m thinking I should be buying up properties so my family can live there… or just for investment properties. The thing is, though, when housing prices are that cheap they are not really much of an investment – you can’t expect the kind of return and accumulation of equity that we greedy people in California expect!

oh yeah, and I’m paying for year-round 70 degree weather here… I have to remember that I take that for granted :)

  • Hehee that is my favorite website… I can spend hours on there browsing through all the homes for sale! If it wasn’t for snow…. I would be in Maine! It looks so beautiful there!

  • thats it.

    im movin to maine

You can’t buy a crack house in the ghetto for those prices here in FL

    NO FAIR!!!

  • that first house has character!!

  • Wow, just looking at those pictures makes a person dream!  Visions of barefoot children running through the grass, and twinkling lights from the Christmas tree sparkling through the front window….thanks for sharing.

  • you are such a tease… I could cry over the circa 1850 house…

  • Maine is someplace I have ALWAYS wanted to visit…and would love to live there! That last place has a clawfoot bathtub…I LOVE clawfoot bathtubs! I don’t think I’ve ever told you that I covet your bathtub! LOL! We had one when I was a kid…

  • I’m packing my bags right now ! I wish.

  • Waaaahhhh….I want to move to Maine!  I love the third one, 1790!?  How cool

  • I love the one down the road from you. We could totally afford Maine. I’ll be thinking on that one.

  • My jaw just hit the ground.  OMG.  When can we move!!  Oh wait….it gets cold there doesn’t it.

  • I’ve never been to Maine but boy are those tempting! And beautiful. The age of the homes alone would make them totally fascinating to me. Around here, 100 is old! My house is a mere 35 and I know people that “will only buy new.” How boring. And 5 acres. A dream come true… There’s an old book “5 Acres and Independence.” Very tempting.

  • I’ll take the first one! Those prices are unbelievable.
Sigh! Do you have good Fall color? ‘Cause you know, that would be the #1 criteria for moving to Maine….(-:

  • Please don’t get me looking at real estate.  I’m feeling that a big part of my spiritual growth/task is to get past the whole “the grass is always greener….” thing.

  • crunchy: Fall Color?  You betcha!!

    (pictures will be forthcoming)

  • I’m coming!

  • Now I want them all. But I would totally love to live on a stream down the road from you. And pick wild blueberries. Tra la la.

  • I’ll take the first house! I already have a wacky, crooked, white farmhouse, but I bet I could have CHICKENS on that one!!

  • Ah – you’re killin me! You can’t buy anything here for less than $250k, and even at that price, it would be probably called a “lot with teardown”. *Sob*  Maybe I should move to Maine – I grew up in New England and miss it terribly!

  • Now the question is:  if any of us actually move to Maine, would you be willing to share your wild-food foraging secrets?

  • hey your website is cute sign my guest book my  name i babycakes1015

  • I stumbled across your site from miss bella’s. It’s absolutely lovely and your life sounds splendid. Hope you don’t mind if I subscribe.

And those homes are AMAZING! It’s been a dream of mine to live along the east coast. I especially love the first one. Beautiful and very cheap! :)

  • Man, I have to check this out myself (Your teasing us).

  • I’ll give you another eProps.

  • Me and dh are very impressed! We both are looking at eachother going, hmmmm!? :) Tell us more about Maine!!

  • I love that second house.  California is stupid expensive – thank goodness we bouth before the prices really went up

  • Wow, that’s cheap… house like that around here would be double the price.

  • You have my husband and i talking…very seriously.  We want out of here, badly.

  • Beautiful Homes ~ Very Reasonable!

I have a brother that lives in Portland, Maine

and a niece that lives in Bangor, Maine

I have never been there (yet)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Yes but it’s *so* cold there in the winter.
