    Amusements and Drivel

Yesterday was better.  And I have every intention that today will be good, as well.

    very sexy (ahem) eggplant #1

(the bugs have been horrendous and this may be one of a mere handful)

pumpkin #12, they are surviving the cucumber beetles and the invasion of the

    EVIL SQUASH BUGS

two monarch crysalises (chrysali?) the one on the right broke open this morning

I was looking at it yesterday and thinking how amazing it all is and here I am,

    a witness to it.

And this, my husband brought this home from a yard sale with a smile on his face

“Beer Drinking Sing Along: To Get The Party Started”

“this looks like trouble waiting to happen” he said.

    It sure does.

I love that he is still as funny as the day I met him.

    Today?

    • blackberries: the berries in the woods are 2-3 weeks behind the ones in our fields and so are just now ready.  A few days ago, Trevor picked 4-5 quarts and ran out of containers.  They taste warm and deep and spicy sweet.  Like earth, only better.

    • broccoli, I need to freeze 3-4 pounds more, it will not stop.

    • what else? rolling around on the floor with my little lovelies

    • maybe play a little dress up?

    • ignore cramps

    • look at the woodpiles and think about bringing in the 5 cords we will burn this winter and how good the exercise will be for my mood. The stacks are so pretty right now, though.

    Tonight?

A mamas evening at a friend’s house with wine and crafting and (always) good conversation.

Who’s coming to pick me up after?  I’ll be ready around 10:00 because I am bit of a fart.

  • You should take the eggplant and the new record(?) to the party! If looking at those don’t get the party started nothing will!

  • Wow, Your eggplant and pumpkin look beautiful!  The record does sound like trouble, how funny.  Have a great evening with friends!  Be Blessed

  • Yeah….ditto!!!!!! (-:

And that is the most beautiful eggplant……..

Yay for Ms. Monarch!! Is she still unfolding? Do ya have some more photos????? (-: Isn’t it great to just be watchful of what is around you…instead of buying those expensive kits??? Yep, yep, yep…

Have a great wine night!!!! (I have a group of women I meet with for the same purpose…and it’s wonderful! Maybe we can all meet one day!)

  • Why does the girl in the picture get a smaller glass????  I think she’s a heavy drinker who likes to do beer bongs.  She gets hammered and fist fights people!

  • I’m not a Virgo myself…but I’m in love with every Virgo I’ve ever known…I’m a libra that in the 9th month must have been itching to be born early…

what a funny picture…my art-crit days come right back to me…immediately observing the obvious male gaze going on!

also, I was writing about crysalis as well and noticed that I didn’t know how to handle the plural version either…

  • Durn bugs got my seconf pumpkin.  I went to pick it, and a lizard wrapped itself around my wrist, and I hollered and threw the pumpkin about ten yards.  Funny thing is, I’m not afraid or even creeped out by reptiles, I just don’t like surprise visits by them.

Beautiful, sensual produce.  I love how you can see the monarch’s wings through the chrysalis.

That young lady’s dress is WAY too short; she’s asking for trouble for sure!  *snort*  Please, oh please do tell what’s on this LP!

    Enjoy your wine night!

  • see, i love hearing about your amusements and drivel.  they’re positively wonderful.  :)

  • that record should be titled “Beer Drinking Sing Along: To Get The ORGY Started”…that’s what it looks like it’s leading to!

my eggplants are pathetic this year, about 2 1/2 inches long…appetizers i call them.

    glad yesterday was better!

  • Oh my goodness that eggplant is too much!

  • Your life sounds idyllic.

  • you crack me up Julie.  that LP cover is too much! and the eggplant..:D   I hope you have a good time out tonite.

  • I hope you have a wonderful time tonight!

  • Too much fun in this post.  :)   I hope you have a great time tonight.  Thanks for making me smile.  Now I’ve got that “let’s get this party started” song stuck in my head.

  • the crysalis is so cool.

  • My dad used to listen to German beer-drinking songs. And I live in Kitchener, home of Oktoberfest. I could probably sing you a few lines…well, maybe I won’t.

  • Beautiful vegies! (Is a pumpkin a vegetable?)

  • your life makes me smile :)

  • Is it just me or is that eggplant an innie & an outie?

    Squash bugs are eeeeeeeeeeevil. Bastids.

  • I love me some sexual produce! hehe
