We Had A Visitor Today
(and other stuff)
The visitor
A Painted Turtle
The other stuff:
The meter person came two days ago and flew up our driveway like a madman, driving over Jesse’s scooter in the process. I spent part of my afternoon on the phone to the claims dept (not because I am cheap but because people should not drive like that in other people’s driveways)
I have had pictures printed and am putting together the beginnings of my portfolio; I tingle with the potential!
my foster sister has been here for the past four days and lovvvves to watch the kids; we even slept “in” (1st time in 7 years) until 9:00 AM and then ate breakfast together like grown-ups!!!! This was very nice.
I am working on this: (phase 2, but not finished)
It says, “Truth, Hope, Love”
- We are eating peas and chard and lettuce and herbs and radishes from the garden. Zucchini and summer squash and green beans are only days away! I think our melons are dead, though. Wahhh
- I “found” my exchange student “sisters” through a google search and exchanged e-mails. (Hi, Thais& Lais!!!
) We have not been in touch for nearly 20 years and this thrills me to no end! Wahoo!
- We are camping out on the living room floor tonight, complete with board games and snacks and pillow fights and flashlights. Should be good. You coming over?!I will have beer & wine. (and ice cream and chocolate, of course!)
- Roo has had swelling in her Lymph nodes and we were relieved to find out today that it is a result of her many, many bug bites. Whew.
Sooo, when are you
coming over?

I’ll be there in about ten minutes! :p I wish! I’d bring H. too…I’m sure he would love Jesse and Roo!
I wish I could come. *pouts* I ain’t been to a good sleep over in YEARS! FOOD FIGHT!!!!!
:giggle:
Well, we were thinking about a vacation to Maine – how does Labor Day sound?
I would love to come
I imagine your home as a wonderful peacefully free place.
You have such a fun way of living…You are the mother I want to be someday!
Good to hear those Nodes were just doing their job!
xo
i would like a beer, and a summer squash/zucchini stirfry.
and then some bittersweet chocolate and a glass of red wine for dessert.
then our kids could play.
it would be fun.
:sunny:
I am seriously contemplating a visit to the northeast. I am going to visit you, I really am! And Tigermama, and LynnE73, and…and…whoever. Just a question of WHEN!!!
Mmmmm! Garden veggies! Our corn is mostly kaput, and there are some other things on the side that are not thriving. Wish we had planted summer squash…I love summer squash and corn sauteed in a little vegetable oil. Yum!
I love what you did to the belly cast. I’m inspired to work on mine a little more.
Love the mermaid pic; you are gorgeous!:heartbeat: Wish I could be there tonight. It’d be just what the doctor ordered. I’m there in spirit!
I had roasted zucchini tonight… So good! I will be at your house. First I am driving to Dori’s and she and I are going to declare a ya ya roadtrip and zoom up the coast to you!
You are gonna end up with a “Xanga Sisters B&B” if not careful with those invites!
Smootch!
i love the progress!
i’d be doing the same thing about the scooter. that is rude, not to mention dangerous to be driving up a client’s driveway like that.
ryc: what are post bugs? i’m sure there’s something that could help them, just let me know what they are and i’ll see what i can come up with. off the top of my head, plantain salve or chickweed salve would be good for bug bites.
I am so there! I’ll bring popcorn and nachos complete with yellow/orange melty cheese-like substance.
Only a a mere state away, lady!!!
What a vibrant bellycast!
I’d love to visit!
I’ll be there…in spirit.
awesome awesome pictures, the colors came through so gorgeous.
and i would be there in a heartbeat if i could, sounds just like the kind of night i need today!!
i’m glad Roo is okay.
She’s too cute to be sick!
I’ll bring homemade marshmellows for smores!!
It might get crowded with my herd! But we are coming over any way!
Gosh, that would be so much fun. Maybe some day we actually could?
Good that you are calling on the meter person. He could have hurt a child or an animal!
I hope they get him a new scooter! :goodjob:
Right now!!! if only….
Great post complete with a painted turtle! awwww love it!
Zucchini and a brew sounds yummy!
I would love to visit your house, looks and sounds like a wonderful place
to live and grow!!
Poor Roo! Glad to hear its just the bugbites. Love the belly cast. I’ll come,I “ll bring a bottle of my fav wine from the winery down the street…
As soon as I am able.
You are fabulously fabulous.
thank you
We’ll be right over! I think we’ll be driving though…
I WANNA COME! my peas haven’t even flowered! what’s up with that???
I’d love to come over, drink beer, wine and eat chocolate and icecream…and see you and your wonderful kids!
I’m a LONG way away though! LOL
I like the belly cast. I should have made one.
RYC: I put in the peas a little earlier than you did…I am bummed…:jealous:
I love the truth, hope, love artwork. I’m naive…but it is a pregnant woman’s bust, yes?
I’m comin’!!! But it looks like I missed it! I’ll bring the coffee adn Hershey’s coco and whip up some chocolate chip tie dye (with whole wheat flour and flax seed meal to counteract the sugar)
Your turtle islovely!! As your perspective on him…gorgeous color and larger than life sharpness! Great shots!
ANd your belly cast is transforming beautifully!!! I bet it feels so good to have the creative inspiration coursing through you…blossoming when teh moment is right…(-:
Beyooootiful belly cast. Mine is painted a boring baby blue, one day I’ll get around to making it pretty.
I would love to.
Psycho_Delicate: yes, it is a cast I made when pregnant with my daughter…
if only there was less distance between Maryland and Maine. ok so I guess it’s not THAT much… but enough to deter me from driving up there right NOW and running free thru your garden and picking zucchini! =P
good grief we are bored here. how do you like maine anyhow?
Hi Turtle! I’m glad you’re getting your portfolio together, you take wonderful photographs.
Poor Roo, she must be tasty to the bugs. They love my mother, as well.
I hope you had a fun campout!
Watch what you ask. We plan to spend a couple weeks camping at Acadia one of these summers. You might just end up with all six of us for breakfast.
It sounds like you guys are really enjoying the summer!
Love that tummy cast! Beautiful :heartbeat:
What a refreshing and full post!!!
What wonderful progress in so many areas!
I can not wait to see your portfolio – I do hope you will share
And we are so vacationing there
… and I want family pictures by you!
