Paintings 2001-2003
(a glimpse)
I know I have posted some of these over the past year; forgive me if you have seen them before but my mind is in a state of review and I am going through these.
And many of you have only been reading here for 3-6 months and have not seen them.
I have a great deal more to share but need to break out of my comfort zone a bit before doing so.
BABY STEPS.

I love them. They have so much color, energy and soul. You are so gifted. I can’t wait to create again myself.
Fly little bird, fly!
WONDERFUL! These are great! I love the woman on the cliff and the woman on the tree (my two favorites). I also really love the one with the woman lying down and branches emerging from her womb up toward the heavens. :heartbeat: What a talent you are.
I love them! LOVE THEM! As I said before, I have this thing for womanly art and yours work full of it! So bright and pretty,
I can’t wait to see more, so get on with it and your baby steps!!! *Giggle!* ok, not rushing you really… but I’m excited to see more.
I have ‘visions’ but not sure I can swing it… so I tell my daughter, who can
ok ok … I’m a cheater!
Hope you are having a beautiful day!
K~
This is incredible. Thank you so much for sharing.
“See” you in 2 weeks!
They really are beautiful. Do you ever sell any of it. The one of the woman on the cliff is absolutely breathtaking.
I love them. I would hang them in my house (= My favorite is the one with the woman with red hair flying – that could be me – except maybe her boobs are perkier!!
Wow… were you inspired by Freida Kahlo? “The cliff” is just beautiful!
wow – dude – you’re like prolific! do you have them all stored away in your beautiful farmhouse? or decorating the walls? or have they been gifted away? i like them muchly, indeed.
You know I love them! :goodjob:
I am in love with the Release painting… Do you sell any of them???
They are wonderful!!!!!!!
S
wow! those are awesome! my faves are the same as mom2sands.
Those are awesome! That’ my favorite kind of art.
I love your use of color and emotion through form and color rather than expression.
I also love that slide show format. Can you do that on picturetrail?
oh….wow…..I love primitive art and woman art and bodies. I really love the woman in the tree, woman on the cliff and woman on the bed with figures flying about her and the sun at the head…oh well, I liked the one with the plant growing out of the abdomen area, too….and the one of the face of a woman in braids….thank you so much for sharing. Do you sell these??
oh, do you mind if I link you?
:coolman:
I like the “swim little fishes” and “release” very much. I love the bright colors.
i long for your ability. they have a very kahlo-esque feel to them.
hmmm…2001-2003 is a period where I’ve done very little art work…it feels like a “lost” period…kind of like the fact I had not a lot of menstrual periods during that time…ha, ha…here’s to “fertility”…lovely, lovely, stuff…
dare you to try monochrome!!!:littlekiss:
They’re lovely. They make me think of the innocence and purity we lack now that our childhood is over.
I love love love your paintings! Love them! :heartbeat:
I have seen them because I went all the way back and read every single one of your posts, but I have to say- you are amazing
Oh Julie…it’s wonderful!!!!! I love your way of imaging the feminine…and I can tell what you were doing in this time period…the intensely, creative…making babies!!!! (-: I had urges to make paintings like this in my pregnancy/nursing days…but couldn’t get as far as even putting the images to paper. You did so, ((beautifully))!!!!!
Please show us more of your art as you get comfy!
Picturetrails sure is neat!!!! I’m gonna tryit later this week, I think.
Would you consider making prints of your art and selling it?
What I see is color, energy and woman. They give a feeling of power. The one on the cliff is awesome.
And Lucy Poo is just so, so, so adorable. Oh, little puppies. I love then. I’m jealous.
You are one amazing woman! I think the woman reclining on the edge of the cliff with the raven on her knee is my fave, but it is so hard to choose. I love them all!
Wonderful work! Thank you for sharing them.
those are so great!!!
Every time I saw a new one I thought — that’s my favorite!! But my favorite favorite is the blue-haired woman on the cliff. Looking back at your comments, I guess I’m not that original!!
Reminds me of Frida. Very feminine. They’re beautiful.
Oh nice!
I love all your paintings! but you just killed my dialup! lol
love your paintings and SO glad that you found time and/or inspiration to take it up again!
I love them all.
I love them ALL.
thank you — that was wonderful to see
you are quite the expressive artist, Julie! :sunny:
I’m with melissatulip…. I love them. Love them all. I’m coveting them. The “look at you!” painting is right up there verging on a favorite. I love the story of it. Did I say I’m coveting them? Can I say it again?
Okay, here’s a question. When will you start writing children’s books?
I agree with crunchy – they are awesome – if you do make prints I would love to buy some. You are so talented
Oh! They are gorgeous! So vibrant and rich with color. Congratulations! You are a wonderful, talented artist
Thanks for stopping by my site. Your paintings are beautiful. You have to be a fan of Freida Kahlo! I love her too. She is one of my favorites.
I hope you don’t mind if I sub!
I love the one with the woman on the cliff, and the spiralling sun. Powerful.
sorry I was gone and not able to comment until now. lovely. I too love painting… I never painted on canvas though… just stuff. stuff around the house. and my kids have broken almost everything so I can’t even post about it! =)
share more!!!!! =) it so SO lovely! I feel like i am looking inside your heard and that is how art should be! an outward reflection of your inner being.
so much I wanna say about it but my head is so tired right now.
