24 Hours Until Trev Comes Home!!!
(who’s counting?)
ME!
this morning it was,
Julie vs. The Weeds in The Garden
it’s all about the scuffle hoe!
How I love to scuffle a row with my hoe!
Julie vs. the just finished floors in the living room (put it all back in place)
(I hope he’s surprised!)
Julie vs. the (ick) bathroom (just to insert some glamour in my morning)
Julie vs. the mountain of laundry
Julie vs. the books that needed to be packed and shipped
And The Winner Is, Julie!!!
I Rock!
And in Other News:
sweetness
garter snake skin
4 snakes found, one caught
Bubbles!!!
And some chocolatey goodness from Kali_Mama
(I can taste the love!)
when these arrived, Jesse had one and said,
“oh how I love it when my nuts are dunked in chocolate”
he is his father’s son
snort, snort!
and this,
from hour_follows_hour:
(leave your name and…)
1. I’ll respond with something random about you
2. I’ll challenge you to try something
3. I’ll pick a colour that I associate with you
4. I’ll tell you something I like about you
5. I’ll tell you my first/clearest memory of you
6. I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of
7. I’ll ask you something I’ve always wanted to ask you
8. if i do this for you you must post it in your journal
( for julie)
1. you remind me of sunlight
2. i challenge you to get a babysitter and have an evening to yourself when trevor gets home
3. yellow, warm buttery yellow
4. your dedication and beliefs towards how you live your life and raise your kids
5. well we’ve never met but when i first read your site i was so overjoyed to see someone living the life that i so desire
6. you remind me of an oreole
7. if you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?
So, who wants to play?
Leave a request and I will fill in the blanks, the only rule is you must post the result on your blog afterward and play along.
To add: I am considering taking pictures of kids and families in the outdoors for fun and profit?

I love Jack Johnson, and garter snakes, coincidentally.
love the pictures of your children….. most especially the “sweetness” one of Jesse. That is just perfect. Beautifully framed, and I love his eyes looking up, that picture could sell.
Yay! for Trev coming home to you. I know how nice it is to have a hubby return from far away.
The floors look great and the almonds look yummy. How perfect it would be to take pictures for profit..you are so obviously talented and love it so much.
Welcome Home to Trevor (in 24 hours). Way to go for winning your battle today. Everything looks great. And I’m leaving my name, Emily.
Putting my request in too!
Your home looks wonderful!
Yey Trevor is almost home!!!:sunny:
You do rock! It is amazing how productive you are. When did it get easier to be so productive? I feel like I struggle just to maintain…I cannot imagine finishing the floors!
Okay, how hilarious is Jesses comment!?! What a bug. The photos are beautiful (as always). So should you take a shot at family and child photograph? YES YES YES! HOW PERFECT! Really, what a great idea. I have a friend who does photography. Her work is with families and kids in their natural setting (outdoors and in their homes). It is amazing. She has done a wonderful job marketing herself and she grew her business quickly. She also gets paid well (I think). Here is her website: BrandyCunninghamPhotography.com (We are in her maternity section the second pic (on page one) and the last belly pic (on page 2). I am sure she would be happy to share her insights with you.
Lastly, yes I will play! Have a good evening!:heartbeat:
The floor looks fab! I hope you get that babysitter for when Trevor comes home
That’s a fantastic ideal to combine your GIFT of photography and earn some extra money. Customers will be beating down your f-stop!
I’m leaving my name- Jessica
Ooh ooh, I wanna play! Gillian
Here! I am in :sunny:
Uh oh – it entered when I didn’t click to finish
– Vonnie
Anything covered in chocolate is at least 50 percent better because of the chocolate
Can I play along?
Julie – #1: Your floors are amazing; good work! You do rock, indeed! #2: YES, you should make some dinero taking such lovely photos. In fact, should my family ever end up in your parts, sign me UP! The photos you take of your children are gorgeous; lately, I’ve adored the two of your son – the one today and the one of him standing on the log(?) with his arms outstretched; wow! #3: I think I never knew that your DH was gone; where, may I ask, is he – if this isn’t too private? Regardless, YAY that he’s on his way home!!!
I love your pictures and I think its great you’re thinking about doing family/kids photography.
Too bad you’re so far away, otherwise I would love to have you take pictures for my family.
Okay, I’ll play. And I know this will be tough for you since you don’t know me all that well….but I’ll play.
And I think you should, you+camera X lovely children+nature= beautiful, beautiful photos.
And congrats on Trevor being home soon. I will wait for your response as I am sure you will be busy for a bit enjoying some family time!
I think I need a scuffle hoe. It won’t help much, but it might help a little. How big is your garden?
CLMama: he has been in Az for a month for work.
joy + camera = yay! lucky familiies!! and….so happy for you your dear heart is coming home…and WOW you’ve managed to get a lot done in one month!!
knitsteel: it is 60×60. I highly recommend the hoe, you push it back and forth (with a loose motion) over small weeds until they are loosened and a bit chopped and it does the trick! I weed weekly this time of year but it only takes 2-3 hours and that is for a LARGE garden. Over the course of the season this greatly decreases the number of weeds which reach maturity and this helps in the long run. And my back does not mind this hoe at all!
I even plant some of my beds so that things are spaced to fit the scuffle hoe (like onions, which I could plant a hair closer together; it is worth it to use this tool to keep them clean)
and no, I am not making any commission from the sale of these, despite how much I sound like a saleswoman!
Woohoo!! Yay for tomorrow! Guess that we won’t be seeing you around xanga the next few days.
Just remember to have the chocolate handy.
Leaving my name for when you get the chance…Brit. It sounds like fun!
About the photography, I say go for it! You take amazing shots, you have a real eye for photography, and I bet that you would LOVE it! And this way, if you are ever in MI, you can do pics for me. :sunny:
You were born to take photos… you are so incrediably talented! Julie, your bliss shines in everything you do… you shine!
I love mulching. I will post garden updates tomorrow (along with my pop art!) and show you what I mean… I have weeded a total of maybe an hour. I am not bragging. Maybe I’m just lucky.
Blessings of light!
p.s…. I wanna play!
I showed DH your site tonight and he loved the pics most of all!
Yippee!!! He’ coming home tommorrow.
If I had your phenomenal gift for photography – seriously – I would consider doing it for fun and profit. It sounds like an exciting possibility. Your house and garden look terrific and I love the garter snake! My kids enjoy finding snake skins in our garage, which is home to a number of lovely (and BIG) rat snakes. http://momof3feistykids.homeschooljournal.net/
I am convinced: There is nothing you can’t make shine. :sunny: How do you do it? The floors, the kids, the snakes. Amazing!
You’re on the home stretch – 24 more hours!
Your floors are beautiful.
Definitely do photography – you have a gift. And remember wise old Rumi “Let the beauty we love be what we do…”
wow you’re floors turned out awesome!!!!!!! and as always your photos are awesome.
oh and do me! do me!
What kind of camera do you use?
Holy Shamoley! You are WONDER WOMAN!
and yes! I wanna play!~
I know we don’t know eachother well but this looks fun!
Have you reached your limit, because I’d love to play too!
Have a fabulous day tomorrow, i’m sure it will feel good to be a whole family again!
I just realized I quoted you slightly wrong, apologies.
YOu definitely have a gift with the photography. It would be fun to pursue it. “Do what you love…” I have one of those hoes! But I’m 5’10 and always seem to need to lean too much to make it comfortable. I must be doing something wrong.
I want to play this game, but what if a lot of people respond? It seems like a lot of work. Hm. I’ll try it.
Amazing…all the projects that you finished! Truly amazing.
Your photography idea is so perfectly you! You’d be perfect at this! If you come to Portland I’d hire you to take pictures of our little circus.
I’d love to play!
Excited for you that Trevor is almost home! What a marvelous day it’ll be! Sending Love (v)
The floors look wonderful..bravo
As always, everything looks beautiful. Congratulations on having a wonderful life.

Jesse!
I hope the hours fly until Trevor is home with you guys again.
I’ll join in on the blog challenge/survey/thingie.
And  Take pictures of kids outside! I wish you were near enough to take some pictures of MY kid outside. You might get more than just the back of his head unlike me.
Julie, I just LOVE your little house! Congrats on getting all those “little” errands done! And for the record, I think you would be an AWESOME photographer, go for it girl! :sunny:
JULIE you are truly beautiful!!

I want to play the game also, I need some motivation to post.
Welcome home Trevor.
ps., your hair looks great with the new color.
Your home looks so inviting, warm, comforting. Makes you want to get down on the floor and play.
Not only is your photography beautiful, but it is inspiring. You have a special talent – the way you capture the essence and spirit of the object/person. Especially children.
Go Julie! The garden and house look great!

Your floors look fantastic! I especially love how the blue tablecloth lives in the room. It’s perfect! What kind of snake was that? Okay, and last but not least, you would be SILLY (a word I hardly ever use) not to get paid for your photographs! (And btw, I don’t ever call my children or anyone else’s “silly.” I think it’s degrading to do so.)
Well what did he think of the living room? I’ll bet he loved it. I don’t see how he could help but love it. It is gorgeous.
:heartbeat: nice photos of home, garden and kids…
