        A Day, in pictures

    (and a few words)

In the morning we have our tea

    we wear our tea hats

(some hats require a certain attitude)

afterward, we feel refreshed and go searching for creatures which slither and hop

today we are lucky and find both kinds.

Roo feels that worms enjoy a good mid-day slide

(the worm in her hand tells her this)

the sun warms us a bit much and we decide to retreat inside for lunch

    don’t forget the “silver-wear”

“well, don’t you look lovely my dear”

    “ and you, as well!”

    time for bubbles

(this mama don’t mess around when it comes to bubbles)

    happiness is good

    good. good. good.

“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder without any such gift from the fairies, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in”

  • I LOVE the silver-wear! That is too cool! I wonder what my two would do if I suggested that. lol Joey would probably love it while MacKenna would remind me that that is for cooking, not for wearing.

  • Oh I love coming in here! (-:
What a great day! I love the silver-wear! my favorite is the bangles! (-: We used to keep a roll of foil in the car for making stuff…I need to get another roll to put back in there…

And your bubbles…you rock with tht fan!!! Woo hoo!

Congratulations on your garden! Enjoy the fruits of your garden therapy…it’s coming back to sustain you..isn’t that cool how life works? (-:

I love the Rachel Carson quote, and the Leo Tolstoy one from the other day…It hit me on a much deeper level when I just read it than it would have before….(I’ve been reading The Power of Now, and Tolstoy’s quote sums up that book simply and profoundly) (-:

  • untouchableface: I adore Monroe Salt Works, love the rough feel and colors and thickness of their pottery.

Common Ground?!  Every chance we can!!!!!

  • :sunny: I wish I could go back and grow up all over again at your house.

  • You are wonderful!!

  • I love how much time you spent with your children.  It’s beautiful and inspiring.

This certainly isn’t judgemental, just inquisitive.  But how do you do it?  Do you work?  And if not, how do you afford to live?

  • Looks like a fun day.

  • what a great day!
I loved drinking tea with my mom as a kid – and still do.
The tinfoil outfits are cracking me up. Very very fun.

  • Psycho_Delicate: my husband is a biologist and works part-time in the field and writes reports/papers/grants from home.  I sell books online and work when the kids are asleep.  We live on a very small budget but we are frugal and make the most of our land for food and wood and joy. (I freeze and can almost all of our vegetables and fruit and syrup).

it is a choice I would make over and over again.
