Self-Portrait Challenge
Two for the Price of One!!!
(actually, I confuse easily
and failed to notice that the theme for SPC has changed for the month and this post was already composed)
(The final post for May: introduce yourself)
*****
I am a million small pieces joined together
my topography is soft, sturdy and everchanging
I may not always age gracefully
but I am joyful and alive
I am a perfectly imperfect human.

K~
yup, the painting is of when I was pregnant with Jesse.
you are too much!Oh wait! Is there such a thing????
How cool!
By the way … WOW … you certainly got a slew of comments on your last post!
I enjoyed reading it. I am less relaxed in my approach to parenting and “schooling” that you seem to be, and more relaxed that many other parents I meet. I enjoy the diversity … it is so enriching and thought provoking! (And have I mentioned how much I admire your gift for writing?) I agree that it is not the NUMBER of boundaries we set for our children that matters, and that children need to learn – early on – to listen to the *inner* voice.
P.S. – I like the pregnancy portrait very much (I was so busy looking at the photos I didn’t look at it closely before). The colors are so warm and full of fire, passion and LIFE. http://momof3feistykids.homeschooljournal.net/
Very nicely done!
:sunny: nice!

How come you don’t have grey hair – must be that country air (=
Pop art is cool.

Wow! Love them both! Especially the pop art one! I SO need to take part in these things when I get the chance. They really are too cool and a great way of expressing yourself.
You’re beautiful.
You are a magnificent artist…a poet, a photographer, and a painter (AND so much more). I love how you mix the beautiful with the hilarious. You just make me smile…always.
Wow! Those are so incredible. That painting is jug-a-licious!

I loved these pics.
I Love your interpretation of pop art. What a gorgeous painting (and gorgeous woman behind it.) I’m glad you did one last introducing yourself theme because these are so brave and real and beautiful.
You are one gorgeous, amazing, thoughtful, loving and totally radiant woman! :sunny:
the pop art pic is so cool…you are brilliant!
Love the photos, joy certainly radiates xx That painting is just awesome!!!
as someone who’s seen many a painting in my day (did my undergrad in art) it’s really lovely and refreshing to see the juxtiposition of the painting on the body…
have you ever seen the nudes from the 60s that were “signed” by the artist? oh boy, can’t remember his name? well, you did better than that anyway…much more fun and claiming of oneself – rather than anonomys (and I can’t spell today either…) female bodies…bravo!
Wow! You give out a sense of confidence and peace with yourself that I envy. Your art and photography make me feel good. A good way to start the day.
I’d say you’re aging quite gracefully. I love the pop art!
absolutely LOVED your pop art interpretation! Very Cool. Thanks for getting me interested in the self portrait challenge because of your posts… I posted my “pop art” on my site today as well.
